The Hunter's Mate

I grew older knowing supernatural creatures. For example, I could tell a vampire if I see one. It was strange that I was more powerful than any of them. At first, I thought I was one of them but the more I studied about them, the more it gave me reasons to doubt that I was like them. I gave up trying to find the race I belonged to, so I went about my daily life living like humans. But my world began to crumble when I found my mate. He is a warlock of the witch's coven and one of the mermaid hunters. Through him, I started to find who I really am and my purpose on earth.

Chapter 69: A talk with Julia.

"Julia?." I called when I walked in. She looked up at me and shifted uncomfortably on the bed. She broke into tears. "Oh baby.." I felt drawn and instantly moved to sit with her. I held her shoulder and wiped her tears away.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She cried out and sniffed.."No girl. Don't apologize to me. Go to mom because she clearly needs your apologies." I said to her, "She wouldn't open the door. Mom has shut me out of her life forever." I shake my head negatively.

"Mom hasn't done any of that. She's just angry, give her time, you'll see her come by." I mumbled.

"You don't know mom, look.. That she ever listened to you was because you're the special daughter. You've always been after her heart. Have you noticed anything you do wrong, she praises you. She doesn't care if you're wrong or not, she forgives you without a second thought."

"It isn't that Julia. There are things you do that make me think if you have sense at all. Look at me, I don't find myself agreeing to the bitch's request because of a wrap of cocaine, eww. I do not find myself hurting my loved ones too. Have I hurt you before?." I asked her.

She looked at me, "You're so cunny. You hurt me and make yourself good before other people." I shake my head.

"I did not in any way hurt you. You did that to yourself. If mom had left you long ago, you could have destroyed your life with your hands and still blame me for it. Julianna, if you want them to treat you like me, you merit it. I'm not gonna say that I'm perfect but there are things that require wisdom."

"You did this yourself. The earlier you stop blaming me unnecessarily, the better for you alone. Do not rely on your parents to do all, do some for yourself. Look at you, thinking I'm the curse of your problem, destroying the plans I have for myself and wasting your time doing unspeakable stuff, you don't know you're destroying your life with it."

"Julia apologized to mom. If she doesn't accept, do things to make her accept you back. This is how a good daughter builds up relationships with her parents."

I do not know if she'd listen to me but the way she was quiet about it, I think she was having a thought about it. I stood up and wore my robe, then made her stand to her feet. I led her to lie on the bed. "You can sleep on the bed while I take the couch." I told Julia.

"I'm fine with you lying beside me. Let's do this for the first time." She mumbled and I smiled and laid beside her. Then, light off.

The next morning, I woke up for my morning jog, I looked beside me to make sure it wasn't a dream and I smiled when I saw her sleeping soundly beside me. She opened her eyes and I cleared my throat.

"Off to the field?." She asked, and I nodded. "Actually, I've been gaining weight lately and.."

I scoffed, "Join me." I told her.

We jogged round the field together and I swear Julia was a drama queen. She was seriously fun to be with, it'd made my morning run memorable.

After that morning, we decided to get some snacks at the market. The members were looking at us strangely, especially Julia who was smiling and nice to everyone. There was one particular woman we saw and she stopped to greet her. She bowed to the old lady, "I'm sorry ma'am for ever hitting you that day. That was stupid of me." She apologized. The woman looked surprised at her and nodded with a smile. "You children are so young. You're bound to make mistakes, all the time."

I really liked this side of Julia. Sadly, Julia was one of those witches who weren't lucky to have a mate. She had the same fate with Mr. Brandy. Both of them didn't have the mark on them.

But she told me one day that she was in love with Ethan. I didn't like it at first, but shrugged it off, after all I've got to be happy for Julia.

We walked into the mansion together and everyone who stood was surprised to see us. Mom looked up at us but removed her eyes on us. Breakfast was served and we all settled to eat.

Julia stood up to everyone's surprise, I also looked out of clue of what she wanted to say.

"Guys..I want to apologize to everyone I've wronged in any way and I also wanted to say that I'm a changed person." Madam Maggie's mouth was open and everyone was looking at her in shock.

"I also want to thank my sister, Elena forever for making me admit to my wrong. I'm sorry sis for everything." She said looking at me. I smiled at her, "I love you too." I mouthed. She smiled and turned to others.

"Finally she's got some sense." Noami said and I frowned and eyed her. "What?. You don't expect me to fall for her scheme." She told me. "Shut up, Noami." Her mom scolded her.

"I know you do not like me but I'll make sure you do before christmas." Julia said to her and I smiled. "You wish."

"Sadly she's not gonna spend her birthday here, because she's leaving tomorrow." Mom said and I nodded sadly.

"Elena's leaving?." Julia asked, looking at me. "Yes. To solve her issues, are you angry?." Noami rudely asked and rolled her eyes. Julia brought out her tongue at her and sat back down.

"Go find your mate, girl. I could help if you need my help." She said with a smile, we heard someone push the chair back and we looked up at mom. She tried to leave, "Mom. Julianna has changed. For good this time." I said to mom.

"Eat and come upstairs immediately." She ordered and left. I looked at Julia and rubbed her arm, "It's okay. She will get over it soon." I told her.
