The Spirit of the Sky (1)

Malcom looked at her with curiosity. He was about to ask her, but at that moment, down the mountain where the lair was, an enormous lightning bolt ascended suddenly towards the sky.

His eyes bulged as he stood up subconsciously. Malcom could feel a very strong pressure coming from that lightning alone. It was so strong that he could feel the hair rising from his body due to the static. It was completely different from the time when he felt Clare's unrestrained magic.

This time, the thunder was even more destructive, making his entire being to be on full alert.

Both of them could not help but watch dazedly as the lightning fall with intensity.

When the lightning calmed down, Malcom could see how a strange figure flew at full speed in his direction. A few seconds later, behind him, something landed hard.

Raising a huge cloud of smoke, the young man with brown skin and tattoos stood up behind the mages. When he saw them, he smiled and howled like a wolf.

"You guys were much further away than I thought, but I caught you both!" He said loudly while looking at them smugly.

Harris's eye rested in his head while in his belt, the dagger was kept. Malcom looked at his treasures.

A fit of huge anger rose to his head, but before he could do anything, Skyler took two steps forward.

"You have something that belongs to us!" She said courageously with a threatening voice.

The girl lit her hands-on fire, and seeing this, the dark-skinned young man grinned and howled once more, then he said happily before licking his lips lewdly, "Yes! I like strong women!"

When he said that, the young man opened his hands and closing his eyes for a second. Skyler glared at him in disgust.

He laughed once more before he put himself in a combat position and then challengingly said, "Show me what you have, darling."

Just as he said that Skyler, with speed, threw a ball of fire that the young man dodged, but when he tried to see Skyler once more, she landed next to him, trying to take his face with her hand full of fire.

The young man evaded that move easily and then walked away. He was still alert for her next attack, but Skyler did not move towards him. She was approaching Malcom with a smile instead.

"Don't lose it again!" She said with a bright smile before giving him the dagger.

Malcom was surprised but eventually smiled in gratitude, "Thanks. I owe you one," he said, which Skyler just snorted at.

She then looked at the other young man. "Sorry for the wait," Skyler said, ignoring the dark expression of disbelief on her opponent.

He then frowned started looking for the case where he had kept it. His expression turned to bewilderment when he confirmed that the dagger was really stolen without him noticing at all.

The other young man shouted once more. When he finished, he said happily, "That was great! Amazing! What is your name, baby? I am Alexander, the Spirit of the Sky!"

Skyler's brows twitched. The name sound familiar to her, but she could not remember when she heard of it.

"I am the Goddess of Fire!" Skyler said while looking at him with a determined expression.

Malcom was looking at his dagger with a smile, Skyler had retrieved it for him, and Alexander seemed to be so surprised.

"Impressive! You attacked my face but what you really wanted was to take the dagger from me. That was great!" Alexander continued to praise her while his eyes were heatedly looking at Skyler.

Skyler got uncomfortable, but she was just stood there, not removing her eyes away from the enemy.

But something was not right.

Aside from him checking her out blatantly, this man did not seem like a bad person at all.

His gaze was brimming with enthusiasm, and his attitude was completely different from the enemies they had already faced.

He was also acting like a child excited about a new game. Alexander looked different and acted differently. That alone could be making them cautious towards him even more.

"I can do the same!" At that moment, a small electrical layer surrounded Alexander.

In a fraction of seconds, it had fallen to their back. Both Malcom and Skyler could not follow his movements.

When Skyler tried to turn on her axis, she watched as Alexander's fingers approached her face.

She jerked her head away to dodge the attack, only to see Alexander's other hand approach her abdomen and place his fingers on her to deliver strong electroshock that sent Skyler rolling on the ground.

"It's a good attack! It really works!" Alexander said excitedly.

At that moment, Malcom transformed his dagger into a sword and tried to cut Alexander.

The latter was moving away with difficulty evading his attacks. Malcom advanced with more violence and Alexander, raising his hands, stopped his attack wrapping his forearms in a huge layer of solid ice.

Malcom, surprised, saw his opponent's arms and whispered, "Ice!"

Alexander, smiling, said, "Don't think I'm an elemental, boy!"

And with those words wrapping his feet in ice as if it were a stake, he drove him into the ground causing many ice stakes to come out from under Malcom.

The Marked used the speed of his treasure and took distance only to see the smile on Alexander's.

Alexander waved his hand and threw a wind blade in Malcom's direction that surprisingly stopped his movements.

Only a fraction of a second was enough to turn his dagger into a shield and stop that attack.

When trying to look at Alexander, he was behind him smiling and said as if he was enjoying himself, "You are too strong for a Marked!"

Malcom did not have time to turn and defend himself. He thought about resisting the attack when a precise blaze took Alexander away from him. Skyler was on her feet with an evil smile on her face.
