The Soldiers of the Church (2)

On the other side of the gym, Jonah saw Albert. The latter was looking at him with an expression of unmasked seriousness, to the point that it looked like he was frustrated.

"Did someone died? What's up with that face, boy?" Jonah asked curiously.

Albert was still serious as he handed an envelope towards Jonah. "We have a location. We can intercept them when you say so."

Jonah smiled as he went through the documents. "Prepare everyone. We will go to this place." As he stared at the envelope once again, he thought of something. "Let's take the boy with us."

Albert smiled. Since the fight between Malcom and Skyler, he knew that his boss had taken an interest in that young man.

"You already make up your mind," Albert could not help but ask.

Jonah nodded and then replied, "I did. He just needs to do the same."

Albert nodded and excitedly withdrew.

Jonah watched the night, trying to anticipate the movement of his enemies and wondering what the future would hold for him.

In another city far from the capital…

Another person was looking at the same moon, another materializer who clearly had her own plans.

"Are they all in?"

A voice asked behind the girl.

She smiling and still looking at the moon she said, "I'm not your fucking secretary if you want to see if they came, take a look."

"Uuuh! That hostility! If you continue like this, you will not marry!" A stocky man with white hair and a mischievous smile teased.

The girl got up irritated and walked towards him.

"You think you are the funniest person in the world, huh? Let's see when you have no bones?" She asked with sarcasm.

But a third voice calmly sounded from the entrance and said, "Calm down, you two! The meeting is about to begin!" The voice was from another girl in the room.

The woman and the man who faced each other in anger decided to leave the conflict and go on to the girl who called them.

They entered a room where five people were waiting for them. Seated at the head of a table, a man in a great habit drank wine while the others took their seats at the same table.

"The church of the four welcomes you!" A monk greeted, habitually.

All the people at the table smiled upon seeing each other.

The monk solemnly said, "Very well! Many of us do not know each other personally, so it would be good to start with the introductions. My name is…."

But at that moment, a big stocky man with tattoos on his chest, long red hair and a lively look, mocked, "What is this? Elementary school? Why do we need to introduce ourselves?"

At the head of the table, the monk let out an exasperated sigh.

Through the front door, a man in a neat suit entered. He stood behind the monk. He looked at everyone in warning before speaking, "Please cooperate with the Monsignor!"

Upon seeing him, all those present felt a small wade of intimidation.

Despite not knowing everyone, all of those present knew who the man in the suit was. He was someone who they could not offend.

Therefore, they now knew who the monk who had gathered them was.

The red-haired boy was silent.

"As I said! My name is Lucius Lair! Everyone can call me Monsignor Lair," the monk continued.

When he said that, he raised a hand slowly to point to his companion, "The man behind me, I think he needs no introduction, you should know him well, his name is..."

But the girl who was looking at the moon earlier interrupted him by saying, "Fallen Virtue… Victor Charles Asarod. Everyone knows who he is!"

The man was simple enough for everyone present to know the seriousness of his presence.

Victor, who was standing behind the Monsignor, leaned in to smile at them and bowed.

He then looked at the girl who interrupted the monsignor. "I see you know me. But who are you?" Victor asked expressionlessly.

"My name is Diana Vinks," The young woman said, "But everyone calls me The Architect!"

Next to her, the man who was arguing with her said, "Luckily, I didn't fight you. I would have died instantly!"

After he said that, he took a good drink before continuing, "My name is Michel, but everyone calls me Bones."

Next to her, another girl, a little shy, said, "I am Beth…" then she kept silent.

"Just Beth?" The redhead asked.

He seemed exasperated at the girl's shyness when he repeated his question, "Just that? We have the man that could be a virtue. The Architect, the girl that manages to destroy a city by herself! Bones, the guy capable of fighting against five levels one mage, but you are just Beth? So boring!"

"She is Beth, the leader of the Necropolis!" Diana said, clearly annoyed. Her hands were itching to destroy the redhead dude's face.

She then added, "And you are an idiot if you don't know that. She has a city of dead people under her control. Everybody knows it!"

The guy snorted before he retorted proudly, "So what? That's nothing! I am Alexander, The Spirit of Heaven! And as everybody knows, I am the master of the sky!"

No one seemed surprised by his presentation.

"Oops, I am humbled to be among so many stars. I don't have a name as you know me as the Dark Jester," the man next to Alexander said casually.

Everyone looked at him.

"Are you the one they used to capture the singers?" A young woman who had her feet on the table asked.

The man nodded proudly.

"And you could only bring two?" She asked once more, her head tilted while looking at him expressionlessly.

Dark Jester stiffened. He felt that as a terrible offense and jumped on the table to attack her.

Out of nowhere, he created a copy of himself, which immediately approached the girl.

However, before it managed to reach the girl, the clone dismembered into pieces.

"If you try something like that again, I'll kill you," She said, without moving a muscle from her position. Her voice had no emotion. On her face, there was no expression.

The rest of those present looked at her with curiosity. When she looked at everyone and planted her eyes on Victor, she said, "Right, I'm Marilyn Kain."

Many of those present held their breath.

"Another useless one with no title!" Alexander complained again. He clearly did not know who she was. Not that he would care about it.

"Yes, she does have a title," Victor said before he chuckled. He then walked along the edge of the table and stood next to the young woman.

She got up while looking at Victor without expression.

"She is the daughter of God!" Victor said with a bright smile. He was even looking at Marilyn with unmasked fondness.

Alexander fell silent instantly.

The Dark Jester seemed to fear for his life.

"I had always wanted to meet you," Marilyn muttered while looking at Victor's eyes.

They both smiled.

At the head of the table, Lucius said, "It's good to have such impressive figures here. At last, our mission as Soldiers of the Church would be carried out properly."

All the members of that room were the worst criminals in the entire nation and many of them implanted fear even in the heart of the Sacred Virtues.
