Jason looked around, everyone watching him waiting for an answer, but he did not know what to say. He did not understand why he behaved that way and tried to explain it had never occurred to him.

"You are a disgusting Marked!" Jason said while looking at Malcom with disgust.

And throwing Nora's backpack in the air, he advanced towards Malcom to attack him. Malcom fell into the distraction. He tried to jump to hold the backpack, but what happened? Neither he nor anyone expected it.

When he jumped, Alas was activated. The elevation was immense, almost ten meters in the air, leaving the bag and all the people in that area very low.

Seeing the height that he had reached, he was scared thinking about how he would land, but he did not feel more pressure on his legs when he touched the ground in his fall. The treasure worked perfectly.

Malcom landed right where the backpack had fallen and taken it, and he looked at Nora, who was looking at him with an open-mouth smile.

After Malcom returned the smile, he lost in his thoughts. Malcom did not expect the treasure to be so useful.

However, when he saw Jason, he could not believe what he had seen.

Angrily clenching his teeth in frustration, Jason transformed into a huge gorilla, his roar made everyone flinch, and with speed, he advanced towards Malcom with all his strength.

Malcom saw him approach, and when he was about to crush him with his two fists, Malcom decided to move, but the space he moved was extraordinary.

Almost fifteen meters away from where Jason was landing. The Marked looked at him with a wide smile.

Jason couldn't believe what he saw. He couldn't believe what was happening when his look full of anger was planted on Nora, she saw him, and the smiling gorilla decided to make her the target of his attack.

Jason advanced at full speed, and he did not plan to restrain himself from hitting the girl when Malcolm, observing his intentions, tried to reach her.

Jason jumped to hit her, but Malcom applying an enormous amount of force, arrived in a fraction of seconds to where Nora was, and taking her in his arms, he jumped to get away from that place.

The girl hugged him, terrified by the height he managed to get.

"How are you doing this?" She asked despite her fright.

Malcom smiled and landing almost two blocks away from the school entrance. And he placed her on the floor while looking at his shoes before he replied, "It's a great gift from a good friend!"

As he said that, they both smiled and started running away. Jason was very far from them, and their concerns were settled.

At last, Malcom had had something similar to a victory.

"What Mark do you have?" Nora suddenly softly asked while they were walking.

Malcom watched her with some apprehension. She could understand what he felt, but even so, speaking openly about his Mark was not something easy for him.

He released a sigh before answering dryly, "I have the mark of Death."

She opened her eyes in surprise. "Wow! So you have a lot of magic power?" Nora asked, full of amazement.

Malcom raised a brow before looking at her with a helpless smile, "That is a myth."

She shook her head. Nora's excitement was evident when she responded, "It is not! Death is the strongest of horsemen. That's why he needs those Marked with more magical power!"

Malcom looked at her in disbelief for a moment before he snorted, "There is no way anyone knows which rider is the strongest, Nora!"

"Yes, there is!" Nora replied stubbornly. She was frowning when she added, "They are in the scriptures of the ancient virtues! It is very clear, and Death is the strongest, followed by War, then Hunger, and finally Plague!"

Malcom shook his head. He was not willing to accept what she had said.

"It's true! You have not read the memoirs of Christopher the Wise!" Nora insisted while she waved her hands animatedly.

Malcom looked at her in complete disbelief. He asked with a wry smile, "You want me to read?"

The young woman continued, "You should! We are Markeds, not stupid. If we can't have magic power, we should at least be smart and know how things work!"

"And how would knowing which rider was the strongest help anything?" Malcom asked while looking at her petulantly.

"Yes, of course! You can work in a museum! You don't need too much magic for that!"

Malcom looked at her surprised, and she was an optimistic and direct girl. Being marked did not take away her enthusiasm, completely different from him.

"And you, what Mark do you have?" He asked with a smile.

She looked at him before showing her arm, "Hunger!"

Malcom glanced at her arm. She was showing her magical circle just like that that make him feel strange. It was like she was not feeling bad for being a Mark herself.

"I am the mistress of the chimera with two heads and seven stomachs!" Nora added with a grin.

Malcom saw her surprised when he asked, "Where did you get that?"

She smilingly replied, "I have a book. In the book, they explain each of the things that riders do! Yours is by far the scariest! There is no doubt why they called it Death!"

Malcom nodded before he asked carefully, "Do you think it is unfair that we have to carry those Marks?"

"Of course it is! They didn't even let us choose! No, they decided for us! But as far as I'm concerned, that's the only decision they'll make for me! I will not let their expectations decide my fate. I will live the life I want! And you should do the same," She replied with a smile.

Malcom looked at her, surprised by her words, she really had a completely different vision of life than his, and that puzzled him.

"Do you think that is possible?" He continued to ask while observing her carefully.

She forcefully smiled before Nora replied thoughtfully, "No idea! But what is the alternative? Sit down and wait to die for your sad fate?"

Malcom smiled.

Nora looked at him.

"You have a strength that nobody has! We all have it! But what you do with it is up to you to decide. I can't wait to see what you will do with your strength!" She said with the most charming voice Malcom had ever heard.

With those words she kept walking, Malcom couldn't stop looking at her, he was surprised by the words she had said, he felt that something had changed in him and her life now had a different perspective.

He thought that the voice of a little girl had the power to change the universe. That was magic that few could achieve.
