A Cat In The Mirror (2)

Unlike the others that just smiled at her, this Malcom threw two cards in her direction.

Selina already knew that his cards would materialize into something else.

The first card exploded in the air. Selina managed to quickly dodge before it caused her damage.

Dark smoke was all over the place due to the explosion. Despite that, Selina still managed to evade a bunch of knives that were materialized from Malcom's card.

Selina jumped and managed to get in front of Malcom. The girl prepared her claws to strike.

Malcom avoided it by jumping much higher than she thought could be possible for a regular human. She did not notice that Malcom had left a card that she was currently stepping on.

Before she could react, a lot of chains appeared instantly to bind her, restricting her movement.

Malcom landed gracefully, and, taking another of his cards, a spear appeared in front of him. He grabbed it.

"Do you think that you could stop me with just this, you pathetic Marked?!" Selina yelled when she saw that he was about to attack her.

Selina began to forcefully break the chains with sheer strength. She managed to break one chain, and it did not take long for her to break another.

"Bengal tiger infernal beast!" She screamed with all her strength.

Her black marks deepened as her body turned white, her teeth grew much like her musculature.

The young woman shattered the chains just as Malcom threw a card at her that created a huge guillotine that was aiming at the beast girl's neck.

She managed to avoid it in time, but her remaining arm in the last second was taken by a chain, and with that, the guillotine separated it from her body.

This time there was no pause or respite. The young woman continued to chase her prey. A huge stream of blood came out due to the force she keeps exerting.

She was like a mad beast whose only aim was to kill Malcom. Selina's movement was quick and desperate.

Selina suddenly appeared next to Malcom. Before he could react, she had already opened her mouth with a roar causing Malcom to freeze as if he was in fear.

He tried to step away and take another of his cards, but the young woman's teeth had already planted on his neck with full force, ready to rip it apart.

In the box, Satín let out a loud laugh when the young woman was about to tear the poor boy's neck.

Everyone screamed because of the impressiveness of the movement. Selina did not disappoint them, and she was acting as brutal as they had expected.

Even if Malcom managed to show them good tactics, for them, he still did not have enough capability to defeat Selina.

They all watched as the beast girl bit hard on Malcom's neck until she ripped a part of his throat.

"It seems you are losing big time today. We can still make arrangements later if you wanted," Satin commented as he gave a swift glance towards Mabel, his tone still suggestive and lewd.

However, Mabel just smiled at him.

Satin frowned and felt that something was amiss. His gaze was in the fight, and he felt a little worried for his protégé.

He watched Malcom, who lost part of his neck due to Selina's bite, grab the young woman's neck as well with both hands.

His figure then all of a sudden transformed into stalks. A huge guillotine appeared and fell over, tearing her head off instantly.

Selina opened her eyes and was once more in the stadium.

In front of her, she could see the blue flames on Malcom's back. He spoke a quick goodbye before he went down the stairs.

The crowd was silent. They couldn't believe their eyes. The astonished presenter took a while as well to go back to focus. He looked at the screen, cleared his throat before announcing Malcom as the winner of the match.

Selina had a complicated expression as she watched Malcom walk away.

She looked at the box and saw that Satin's gaze was unmasked with surprise.

It was now Mabel's turn to laugh loudly.

Selina still could not believe it. She looked at her hands, and she imagined holding Malcom's head.

He was supposed to be looking at her with terrified eyes, even when he was not breathing anymore.

But… He was still walking down the stairs, alive and victorious…

Selina's eyes turned red and murderous as she glared at Malcom. Her teeth bit her lips, and the girl lost control.

In an instant, Selina activated her power, and she ran towards Malcom.

He was about to turn around, but the young woman had already pierced his back with her claw.

No one can do anything as they were too surprised by her sudden action.

"Haha! Loser!" Selina laughed madly when her claws had stabbed Malcom.

"You really don't learn, do you?"

Selina heard someone say behind her.

Before she could react, a knife was placed on her neck. In front of her, Malcom's image turned into fragments of mirrors. It started revolving around her.

The girl felt the living terror. Just like in their previous fight, the shards of a broken mirror might cut her arm.

She knew that she could die. Selina could feel it.

However, out of nowhere, the fragments of mirrors halted around her. Satin arrived where the young man was, causing the attack to halt.

Satin's hands were on Malcom's shoulders. The weight of his muscles made Malcom look at Satin with displeasure. He could not hide his anger and contempt.

"Your victory will not last!" Satin yelled as he looked at Malcom as if he wanted to kill him there and there.

Malcom snorted before he made the mirrors vanished, letting them return to his card. He then tucked his knife into its sheath.

He glanced at Selina with a smirk, and unsurprisingly the beast girl was glaring at him with the same hatred as Satin.

"Get loss, Marked!" Satin roared after he removed his hands from above Malcom's shoulder.

And with those words, the match ended.

The animator began to prepare for the next battle while Malcom in the dressing room watched his shaking hand.

Fear was still in his heart as he saw the gaze of a Virtue that genuinely wanted to kill him earlier.

"I didn't ask to be a damned Marked!" Malcom muttered through clenched teeth, as he held back the tears that were about to fall from his eyes. He then touched his shoulder forcefully, where a small mark was placed. It continued to absorb his magic as it's supposed to be.

Regardless, Malcom still won this round.
