Walking Into The Past

The car eases to a stop, Kanna reaches out to open the door. "Wait!" Haruto called out.

Kanna paused, her hand hovering in mid-air, she looked at Haruto who smiled quickly stepping out of the car and went around to her side where he opened the door for her.

Kanna smiled warmly gazing at him, with a tender gesture she extended her hand towards him, Haruto's smiles deepened as he gently took her hand in his, his hold was warm and gentle, with deliberate grace he helped her out of the car.

They smiled at each other before Kanna shifted her gaze on the elegant sign of Hibana Restaurant. Their eyes met once more, exchanging another warm smile before they began walking towards the entrance of the restaurant.

As they stepped inside, a cozy atmosphere enveloped them, walking ahead, they saw a beautifully arranged table for two people highlighted by red roses.

Kanna beams with happiness, as she admires the beautiful arrangements before them, The manager, standing nearby smiles and gestures towards the table. "Here are your seats, Mr. Haruto Oshima"

Haruto smiled at the manager, and gave a polite nod, "Thank you." he said graciously.

"I'll send a waiter to take your order," The manager said before walking away.

Haruto then glanced at Kanna, whose eyes were fixed on the table, sparkling with joy and excitement.

"It's adorable," Kanna whispers softly, admiring the arrangements.

Haruto gestured towards the table, "Let's sit" he said with a smile, Kanna nodded and they both walked towards the table.

Haruto quickly pulled back a chair for Kanna, who sat down gracefully, Haruto then took his own seat across from her, both of them smiling, looking pleased.

A waiter then came giving the menu cards to both Haruto and Kanna. They took the menu and began looking at the dishes.

With a smile, Kanna said, "I'll have a plate of sushi and one donburi please."

Haruto closed his menu and said, "I'll have the same." His choice brought a soft smile to Kanna's face.

The waiter took their order and walked away, Kanna continued to gaze at Haruto with a warm smile. While he returned her gaze with a matching smile.

"You really haven't changed," Kanna said with a smile, "Still ordering the same thing as me."

Haruto's smile broadened, "Well, you know me, I always prefer what you prefer." he said playfully.

Kanna's smile remained steady, as he kept glancing at Haruto, who was glancing back at her.

Later, Kanna ate sushi, closing her eyes to fully enjoy its taste, she seemed pleased eating it. Haruto, still watching her, smiled tenderly, his gaze full of affection as he kept admiring her quietly.

"I really love it," Kanna said, her eyes still closed, as she savored the sushi, she then opened her eyes and saw Haruto's gaze fixed on her.

She smiles, "What aren't you eating?" she asked teasingly.

Haruto with a smile lowered his gaze and ate a piece of sushi, chewing thoughtfully, a soft smile then appeared on his face, "It's really delicious" he said looking up at Kanna to find her gaze now fixed on him, a warm smile playing on her lips.

Kanna then leaned in slightly, gesturing for Haruto to come close, With a curious smile he leaned forward, both of their faces close.

"Wanna race?" Kanna asked playfully.

Haruto lets out a soft chuckle, "A Race?" he repeated, amused by the unexpected challenge.

Kanna excitedly nodded, "Yes, there's still time before the donburi arrives, so let's race, so that we can eat another plate of sushi." she said, her tone lively and eager.

Haruto chuckled softly, his gaze momentarily dropping, before he looked back at her with a smile, "Alright, let's do this" he agreed.

Kanna, her eyes sparkling with excitement, sat straight, Haruto followed suit. their eyes locked in anticipation.

"Are you ready Mr. Haruto Oshima?" She asked with a playful smile. In response Haruto nodded with a smile picking up his chopsticks as he prepared for the race.

Kanna chuckled softly and lifted her hand, signaling that she'll eat with her fingers.

Haruto's eyes widened with surprise, with a smile he also placed his chopsticks aside and held up his hand, both smiling at each other.

Kanna counted "1, 2, 3," and both Kanna and Haruto quickly began eating the sushi, both smiling, eating one piece after another. Haruto was clearly struggling. While Kanna effortlessly enjoyed each bite.

A moments later, Kanna finished her last piece of sushi with a triumphant smile, While Haruto, still holding a half eaten piece and with his mouth full, had one more piece left on his plate.

Kanna shook her head with a mockingly disappointed look, "Poor soul! still can't win against me."

Kanna set her ice cream bowl down and with a smile she said, "If I didn't have trust in you, I wouldn't be sitting here, of course I'll come with you" she said.

Haruto's smile broadened in response and he continued to enjoy his ice cream, clearly pleased.

The car now drove down the road, with Haruto and Kanna sitting inside, Haruto's face was lit up with excitement, While Kanna was watching him fondly, delighted by his enthusiasm.

After a few minutes, the car finally stopped outside the very same park where they broke up years ago.

Haruto, sitting on the driver's seat, smiled warmly and turned his gaze on Kanna, who was focused on the park. She quickly looked back at him, "Haruto, why are we here?" she asked, her voice tinged with nervousness.
