Chapter 65: The Totem - Part 2

There is a small surprise in Em’s eyes, but he quickly shakes Ro’s hand and greets him. “Nice to meet you Roharu.”
Ro shakes his hand firmly. “Emile,” he says only his name with a nod.
Then I look at Xavier. “Em, this is Xavier. He is Mei’s boyfriend.”
Em’s eyes open wide at the realization. “Ah, the totem guy.”
Xavier frowns and I quickly intervene. “Mei sneaked away from the library, while Em went to the bathroom. She left this note.”
Ro reads it first, then sighs and gives it to Xavier, whose face turns from anger to pain. “I thought she went to the Arts & Crafts classroom, but she wasn’t there. Em suggested she might have come to the forest.”
Xavier nods. “Yes, I can…” he trails off as he looks at Em. Whatever he is going to say, he needs to be careful in front of a human who doesn’t know. “I can look for her here, I need to apologize anyway.”
He looks at Ro for permission, and Ro nods at him. “Go get her.”
