Panic Attack (The First Day pt2)

"LIZ! LIZ!" I hear Tyler and Olive calling me but I couldn't answer them. I couldn't function.

"There you are!" Tyler screamed running over to me. The hallways were calm now. Everyone was at lunch. It was just me and them.

"Liz look at me. Match my breathing." Olive told me. I tried but I couldn't. Tyler took over.

"In all yourself, it helps with breathing during panic attacks. Trust me." I did and felt no difference, but they heard a difference. They handed me water and reminded me we'll all have fourth together.

We all ate lunch as quickly as we could to get out of that cafeteria and up to the library. I explained what happened with meeting Julie and they said to be careful but don't push her away so she didn't become mean to me too.

I checked out the book for English and started reading while talking to my two best friends until we got ready for the bell to sing then started speed walking down the hallway and toward the stairs to get back down stairs from the library to science.

I liked science. My teacher, Mrs. Stratz, explained to me what we are doing in class and offered to help me get caught up if needed. We were doing some kind of experiment that day and she let me partner up with Tyler and Olive and permenitly put me at their table as well.

The rest of the day was boring. Even the bus ride home wasn't as peaceful and calm as the. morning. Although it wasn't as loud since kids had been more tired and stressed from homework than this morning. Olive and I quickly did our math homework then Tyler let me copy the answers I couldn't get in history and I let him copy what I had too. Then we all worked on the science paper. By the time our stop came up, we only had our individual work left and we decided to do it with Maya at the barn. Or, we were going to. But my dad was there.

"How was your first day?" He asked me.

"Other than the panic attack? It was actually not horrible. What are you hiding?" I asked taking not of his hands behind his back.

He pulled his hands out from his back and handed me a phone.

"I thought you'd want this so you can stop using our landline. And so I can call you when I need to so you don't fall asleep in the field again." He replied. I thanked him. His number was already in there but the rest of it was mine to set up. I put Tyler and Olive in there. Then I went ahead and added Julie, too.

My new phone fully charged, we headed to the field and called for Maya. When we rode her to the barn, we climbed the sketchy old ladder to the unstable second floor. I felt like we would fall through but we needed to start on the rest of our homework before doing things with Maya and the barn.

My dad texted me saying Julie called the himephone. I texted her saying I was working on finishing homework in a place I found hoping he hasn't told her I was with Tyler and Olive. She called me. They looked worried but I wasn't.

"Hello?"

"Hey Liz. How are you doing with the reading?"

"Not bad, actually. I'm on chapter four. I kind of like it."

"That's good. If you ever need help with homework, maybe I could come over to help you some time?" Tyler shook his head no slowly. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah. Just let me know when you want to come over and I can ask my dad." We said bye and hung up.

"What's so bad about her? What did she do?" I asked. They looked down staying silent.

"What's the plan to fix the barn?" Olive said after moments of nothingness while putting her mostly finished homework in her backpack.
