Chapter One: First Day

'You mustn't Brady,' I swayed my hand at him.

'Oh but girl, you so fine,' he started to make his eyebrows dance. It was like they were doing the worm, 'I could just eat you up.'

'But I'm,' falling backwards, I landed in a cloud of cushions, 'A good girl,' I said seductively.

Climbing on top of me, he gave me a vicious growl, and leaning in, his face lit up.

'Brady?' Now his mouth began to open and close, as if he were a fish.

Exiting his mouth, was a beeping sound. Leaning into me, more and more, I pressed my hands against his chest.

'Brady!?'

Then, without warning, he brought his face down to me at a tremendous speed.

Raising my head, I frantically looked left and right. It was just a dream. Looking at my phone, I read the time, "5:30 a.m." 'Ok, i got time.' Tossing my blanket aside, I jumped out of bed and did a superhero landing. ' "Ms.North" "Yes Teacher?" "Why are you so amazing," ' stepping out my room, I went into the restroom. Exiting the bathroom, I continued conversing with myself. ' "Well you see Mrs.Teacher, I'm just all that," ' taking some bread, I popped a pair in the toaster and opened the fridge. 'Do I want orange juice?'

Grabbing the orange juice from her face, she turned to look to her side, and there stood her brother. 'Sarah, can you hurry up, we gots to go soon,' he poured himself a glass, poptart behind him.

'You're right,' she whispered, doing her best to not wake her parents since their bedroom was beside the kitchen. Grabbing a poptart, she munched on it.

The two stood at the kitchen island, eating their breakfast before going to catch the bus.

'So josh.'

'What is it now Sarah,' he turned his head. It wasn't a too much of a pleasant experience. With our pale skin, his piercings and black hair, not to mention he was in a band. Heavy metal is what they played, though I still can't understand why people like it.

'Do I look good in my outfit? I gotta impress everyone at school!'

He quickly placed his hand against my mouth. 'Would shush,' he removed his hand to then place his pointer finger infront of his lips.

'Sorry.' I bowed to him, repeatedly.

'And to answer your question from before you look fine.'

Looking at his dark jeans, white t-shirt, and black hoodie, I question if he was the right person to ask.

'Well c'mon, let's go,' grabbing his keys, he went out the front door.

Following, I stopped and pulled put my phone. Going into my camera, I looked at my self. My long, restless hair going to my hips, also a jet black like Josh. I pulled at my shirt, maybe I shouldn't wear a turtleneck, but ooo it looked so pretty! With the primary colour tan, and having a bunny face on it, I just couldn't. Going to put my phone away, I slipped it into my rear pocket, and grabbed my backpack. It was relatively light compared to elementary and middle school, but I guess we do have lockers now.

Going out the front door, I locked it behind me and saw my brother in his car, jamming out. Opening the passenger door and sitting down, he looked at my shoes.

'I will admit.'

I turned to face him.

'Those van slip-on's look nice.' He wore black boots.

'Well they go perfect with my appeal,' I lightly kicked my feet in the air.

Pulling out the driveway, my brother started to take us to school. My first day as a freshman, I have so many goals, questions, wants and needs.

Once we arrived, my brother pulled up into a parking.

'Don't you need to pay for parking?'

'Yeah, you head off to class or whatever, I'm gonna pay for this spot,' we both stepped out his car, and pulling out his keys, he locked it.

'Wait you're not gonna help me navigate around?!' I grabbed his arm.

'What, no.' He pulled his arm away. 'First thing you need to know about highschool,' he started to walk then stopped, 'They highly expect you to be independent.'

My upper body flopped forward, then I stood straight again, 'WHAT!' I slapped my hands to the side of my face.

After my scream, everyone in the parking lot looked at me.

'Another tip, learn to grab attention the right way,' Josh walked off.

Walking to the building, I slowly got merge into hordes of students. I could tell they were all freshman as well, they looked at maps searching for their classes. Breaking free, I looked at my map. Josh had drawn with a marker the best routes to take to reach my class rooms. Although he's a punk, he was also a senior. Traversing up the stairs closet to the cafeteria, I went down the hall away from the middle. Stopping at my locker, I opened it and grabbed my english books, as well as for my school computer. Putting them in my bag, I heard a group of boys coming towards me. I looked.

One stood roughly twice my height, and the other two were well built. Football players perhaps. Nearing me, one hit my butt.

'Hey! You can't just do that!'

They snickered.

'And what's a freshman gonna do 'bout it?' The tall man, who slapped me, lowered himself to my height. 'Especially one so short.'

My face turned a bright red. 'Well I'm gonna tell my mother and father! You know, my dad's a cop!'

'Oh, so you're being racist now?'

At first, I didn't catch on what he meant, but then it clicked. I, a white girl, just told three black dudes I'll get an officer on them. 'Wait, I didn't mean that! I-I-' I put my head down in shame.

I could hear them walk away.

'That could've gone better,' closing my locker, I headed off to english class.

Walking in, the teacher was absent right now. It seemed everyone already claimed a seat, which were in pairs. The only seat left, was with no one. Sitting alone, everyone conversed with one another. They must be friends from previous years. Maybe I should have done that, but I chose not too.

Walking in and closing the door behind her, it was our english teacher. 'Good morning class,' the bell rung and the announcements came on.

After a couple minutes of it, we stood, recited the pledge, gave our moment of silence, and took our seats.

'I'm Mrs.Malice. If you can't say it, I dont mind if you give me a nickname easier to say.' Her smile radiated joy, cheerfulness, all happy thoughts. Her whole person felt like a sunset. To her pink blended with yellow blouse, to the black pants whe wore. Her hair was pretty too, a messy bun. She seemed like a happy being, like a librarian. Her glasses were more round than the worlds most perfectly drawn circle. 'Now we'll do role, respond however you wish when I call you, correct me if I mispronounce your name.'

Playing with my pencil, I waited for her to call me. All the names she called were unfamiliar to me, it makes sense though. Finally she called me.

'Sarah North?'

'Present, miss,' I raised my hand.

Looking at me, she made the most kind face ever. 'What a beautiful name! You know, my daughters name is Sarah.'

I looked at the students, who now all stared at me. Growing a tad nervous, I just nodded to her response.

Mrs.Malice looked disappointed now, I felt rude now.

Going through the period, she acquitted everyone with how everything worked in her class and basically that.

With the class coming to an end, we all took our leave going to our next classes.

Reaching my locker, some older girls walked over towards me. One held a bottle of water, another had her phone ready. Out of nowhere, she splashed me with water, the other girl was recording. pushing the two aside, who I assumed to be their "leader" poked my breast.

'What are these small things?'

'My bo-' she pushed me into the locker.

'Who wears this kind of clothing?' She tugged at my sweater.

'I do,' I had tears starting to form.

'What's your name?' She said demandingly.

'S-Sarah North.'

'Well listen her Sarah, North,' she thrusted her breast against me, trying to assert her dominance...and it worked. 'Go anywhere near my boyfriend again, you're dead.' She slapped her hair against my face, and they walked off.

Looking around, a bunch of people just watched, but no one cared. One guy did approach me, asking if I was fine. Of course I overreacted, scared he may bully me too, I ran to the girls restroom. Crying on the toliet, I was soaked, alone and now I saw it. Highschool isn't all that great.
