War Driven Sadist

Lyllia took a step back in fear. Time passed differently in her realm of desires, an intended purpose to have her victims lose track of how much had actually passed. Yet instead of growing confused or tired, each passing moment Opportunity grew more fervent. Each time her nail dug into the skin of the War Driven Sadist she attacked even stronger.

"You!!", Lyllia's nails moved forward to stab Opportunity.

Pang~!

Making contact with Opportunity's axe the nails then shattered. She screamed in pain and took a step back, but Opportunity was relentless! A golden arm manifested and swung to the side. The manifested axe in its hand dug into Lyllia and sent her sliding. Opportunity took a step forward and that alone sent shivers through the succubus.

This had to be some sort of beast! A creature devoid of any sane capabilities! Who fought like this?! Such thoughts rang through Lyllia's mind as she continuously retreated. Yet Opportunity's pace did not increase. Steadied footsteps rang across the misty realm, deafening despite their lack of emotion. It was merely a walk yet so terrifying.

Opportunity raised her axe to the sky a golden energy snapping as it manifested an arm. Stretching her legs she swung with all her might towards the ground. The weight behind the swing cause a golden explosion to occur the moment the manifested axe hit the ground. Eventually the energy caught up to Lyllia, but it washed over her as if she wasn't there. Confused by this she looked at Opportunity with a lingering fear.

Pwang~!

Another heavy hit towards the ground and another burst of golden energy. The second time was all Lyllia needed to understand what Opportunity's intention was. She was trying to destroy this realm! These waves of energy were merely the recoil of the power behind her strikes! If she let this sadist out into the war. . . she mustn't let that happen!

Turning into a pink mist Lyllia appeared behind Opportunity and used her good nails to stab into Opportunity. The paralyzing effect took place and-

"Not this time.", Opportunity turned her head and gazed directly into Lyllia's eyes.

An arm manifested and gripped Lyllia. Lifting her off the ground and slamming her back. She coughed violently, a face of apparent confusion showing. She was unable to speak a word as Opportunity manifested two arms and began barraging the fallen Lyllia with axe strikes. Golden energy washed away at the realm and at the final strike a stronger blast of golden energy shattered the realm entirely.

Lyllia's form changed, but was entirely unrecognizable. Wiping away the blood from her wound Opportunity eyed the fallen Lyllia before moving forward. Having made a link with a poison Dragon Opportunity's resistance to poison and venom rose as a result. Lyllia's constant abuse of the paralyzing effect on her nails led to her downfall.

Additionally she had mastered her most useful asset in her Skillset. The [God's Avatar] no longer became an active Skill with limited moves, but rather a passive ability she was able to summon at will for the cost of some MP. The strength of Third Stage was incredible indeed!

Returning to the battlefield she was greeted with the Death Eater squirming underneath a massive meteor. Taking a moment to understand what she was seeing she raised a hand to her ear. It crackled loudly and shattered, making her frown.

"Say, what happened to our succubus friend? Hmm hmmmm?", a voice spoke.

"Can't you tell?", Opportunity didn't look towards the voice.

Gripping her axes she instead swung in its direction, the golden energy manifesting along with her swing. A playful laugh sounded out as it passed through harmlessly. A ghost-like figure floated away and sat on the massive meteor. Opportunity frowned and took the moment to speak through the link.

'Communication is down, what's happening on your end?' -Opportunity

'Akiol had already informed Givale and Mira, we're moving to your last known location. Our surprise assault was entirely thwarted it seems.' -Ryolu

'Can you two not get here? It shouldn't take that long.' -Opportunity

The two Dragons' speed would be enough to reach their location without concern. Opportunity believed they would be able to arrive before anyone got too overwhelmed. Yet this wasn't the case. A Territory created by a Fourth Stage was nothing simple to breach. Despite them being Dragons, Givale and Ryolu struggled with piercing the barrier that deemed the border of the Territory. When Ryolu explained this issue Opportunity gave an idea, 'What if we attack it from both sides?'

'We'd need either you or Akiol to do so. Can you really afford a moment?' -Ryolu

Opportunity eyed the ghost-like individual who currently was comforting the wriggling Death Eater. Just as she took a step back the ghost pointed at her, "Wait right there. I'm going to free our pet."

It felt like she was being gripped by a hand that suffocated her movement. It was then she understood her enemy, "A Poltergeist."

Placing a palm on the meteor she made it rise to free the Death Eater. As she did so she poked fun at Opportunity, "You all were so confident in this raid. Yet the moment the initiative flips you're all lost."

The ground rumbled as the Death Eater dug back into the earth. Opportunity grit her teeth and doubled her effort, slowly prying away the ghostly hand's grip. Just as she felt the grip burst apart the ground opened and swallowed her whole. The Death Eater rising from the soil.

From its abyss-like mouth a golden avatar formed. This time not just limbs, but the top half of a body as well. Grabbing the edge of the Death Eater's mouth from the inside it shoved it back down into the ground. This freed Opportunity, and she stared at the Poltergeist. The avatar shattered to dust and Opportunity returned to the ground. Currently she wasn't going to assist in creating a breach in the Territory, so she could only hope Akiol would be able to.

What exactly is Territory? For one to be declared by a Fourth Stage and able to block even Givale's mastery over space, it had to have more properties over buffing.

Territory was exactly as the name stated. There were certain methods to calling your Territory, but no surefire way to unlock it. Similarly to a War Sight not everyone was capable of staking claim via Territory.

The most commonly known method is through Synced Nexus. Once the synchronization between two reached a certain level their ideals would blend and form a Territory to suit it. This was the easiest method of unlocking Territory but came at two significant costs.

First, the Territory calling was exclusive to the Synced Nexus. Meaning if the two failed to reach the synchronization level the Territory would not be called. A far cry from the Undead King's willing summon.

The last cost was due to the blending of ideals. The Territory summoned could not be willingly modified. There exists examples of Territory evolving, but its changes could not be directed. This meant that the Territory called via Synced Nexus was almost random. In this it held a similar restriction to that of War Sights.

This was one method for Territory. The usage of the Undead King was something akin to a separate world. By manifesting his ideal to an extreme degree he was able to form it as a Territory. A process not widely known.

A Territory formed by a single individual's ideal was held under a different set of restrictions than one from Synced Nexus. They are as such:

One: All Territory's regardless of origin will not negatively impact outsiders within it.

This is why Stars stated that Territory's served purely as a buff. The infliction of negative effects was limited to Domains. A single person could not wield both a Domain and a Territory simultaneously.

Two: A Territory must be pitched to the World.

This process was a bit muddled. Similarly to that of ascending Stages, the World would judge the Territory and deem it fit. Once called the World would essentially "lend" its authority over a set amount of space to the caller of the Territory. This Authority was what allowed the caller to adjust various properties.

Three: The border of the Territory must be obvious to all witnessing it.

This rule had one loophole. This only applied to when the Territory is called. If someone was already within the range of your Territory, you could call it and entrap them within without stating its border first. Once the Territory had fully manifested, it would become clear where its border lie.

Four: Anyone within the Territory must be free to leave at any given opportunity.

This fell under the category of the first restriction. Preventing those within from leaving would count as a negative effect, and thus would disqualify as a Territory.

Five: The effects of the Territory must be made clear upon calling.

This would mean that under no circumstance would those within the Territory be unaware of what the Territory did. Restricted by this final rule came with the benefit of altering the buff. As long as the World approved the changes, a Territory could change in property the second time you faced it.

These rules may seem restrictive, but the benefits of a Territory made the exchange more than worthwhile. There were smaller restrictions regarding the more particular aspects of a Territory, but those may be reviewed at a later date.

For now, the Undead King's Territory was modified under these new rules: No one may enter without his permission, the undead under his authority would rise again, and in exchange for the lackluster applications he extended the range of his Territory massively.

All of these met the rules and was approved by the World. Those within the Territory were made clear of the undeads rising again. Those outside would immediately find they were unable to enter. And the range was made obvious by the sickly green hue.

The strength of the Territory was not small indeed!
