The Assault Begins!

Akiol walked up to the gate. Upon spotting Rebecca he asked, "Why are we meeting out here in the open?"

Opportunity beckoned for him to follow. Once the reached a clearing she pulled out a strange crystal fruit. It looked like a twin strawberry, except it was teal. It flashed brightly and she put it away.

From a shadow an animal jumped out. It was a black cat with wings of a bat. It was quite huge as well, being slightly larger than an average horse.

The cat purred and rubbed its head against Opportunity. She scratched its chin as she explained, "My mount, her name is Charo."

Akiol commented, "I half expected you to follow the pattern."

"Pattern?"

"Your names starting with an O."

"Nah, that was for a joke. Originally I was just going to call myself something generic. However Ocava was adamant."

"Why is it that only you have two words in your name?"

"The others do too, except we shortened it to be easier to say. Otion is Original Lotion. Ocava is Overgrown Avarice. And Ojay is Orange Juice."

". . .I feel like there are vast differences between your names."

"Don't worry about it. Now hop on."

Opportunity hopped onto Charo and beckoned Akiol. However once Akiol approached Charo flattened her ears.

Opportunity frowned, "That's odd."

Akiol had an idea and turned into his ball form. He slowly rolled around as Charo suddenly perked up at it. Suddenly Charo swiped and pinned down Akiol.

He allowed this to happen, James read somewhere that cats get upset if they can't catch things. He was trying to curry favor with it anyway.

Opportunity spoke, "I didn't know you could do that."

Charo freed Akiol, seemingly pleased with itself. It no longer feared Akiol when he approached. Still Akiol remained in his ball form as he hopped onto its back.

'This is not what I was expecting when this scabbard was made.' -Stars

It looked like an ordinary gray rock had a sword equipped. It would be an amusing sight upon a first glance.

Akiol asked, 'If you don't mind, can you explain the situation. I can't speak in minds like you.'

'Sure.'

Stars told of Akiol's origins. Opportunity was quite surprised at the fact that the sword spoke, "I never heard of a sword speaking before."

'Ever hear the story of the Twelve Swords?'

"Wait, you're one of the swords?!"

'Upper Four sword: Breaker of Stars, though Akiol calls me Stars.'

"Akiol?"

'Is that not his name?'

Opportunity connected some dots, "Sorry, used to calling him by his nickname. So the way he beat all three hundred floors was because of you?"

'I only helped with the top one. I was used like an ordinary sword during the others. It hurts my feelings you know?'

Opportunity patted Charo and the cat jumped upwards and began flying across the sky, "Still, to have an Upper Four sword."

'Not an easy feat that is for sure. Oh, he wants to know what the plan is.'

"I will explain it once we are there."

Silence followed the trip. Charo was surprisingly quick for her looks. Within a fifteen minute flight they flew over twenty miles (32.1 Kilometers).

Charo landed in some random part of a forest Akiol hopped off and transformed back into his human shape.

Opportunity slid off and patted Charo, the cat walked a small distance before slinking into a shadow.

Akiol stretched, "So, what is this plan."

"I don't have one."

". . .", Akiol stared at her in response.

"Plans are useless. In a game like this where anything can happen, unless you plan for every single outcome, so I find it pointless."

"Then what are we going to do?"

"Over here."

Opportunity led him to a cliff. She pointed towards a small box in the distance, "That's the base. Normally home to around fifty or so players, but today it's going to be well over two-hundred. Inside there will be a grey robed old man. That's our target."

"Bullying the elderly, I see I see."

Opportunity smacked her lips, "Probably some teenager trying to look wise and old. That's besides the point, once we find an opportunity I will use an Orb of Greed on him. We kill him off as fast as possible then escape."

"Alright, question though."

"Go ahead."

"What if we blow the place apart."

"That would take time, we have to finish this as fast as possible."

"But I have these."

Akiol pulled out a set of scrolls. Opportunity raised an eyebrow at them, "And these are?"

"Portable bomb, should have enough punch to blow the place apart. If they work that is."

"I have several questions."

"They were created by the purple haired sorcerer I was talking about earlier. Her name's Kan'na. She had a special class that lets her create magic circles for spells instead of chanting. She recently found that she could use these spells on scrolls with the right materials to produce similar effects. However she has yet to test some with this kind of effect. Apparently scrolls are far harder to make and require lots of tweaking."

". . . That answers almost all of my questions honestly. So how do they work?"

"We have to place them in roughly a circle shape. I'll do that of course. Once the final one is placed we have ten to thirty seconds before it explodes."

"Sounds dangerous, I like it. Let me know when it is time though, I'd prefer not to explode."

"Sounds like a cool way to go out though."

"It's not my time. I still have a certain organization to take care of."

"Alright, when are we taking action?"

"In about two hours, once the sun sets."

"We're just going to sit here?"

"Yep."

"You have terrible planning."

"I'd thought you weigh more on Charo, surprisingly your weight barely affected her speed."

"What is Charo anyway?"

"Some demonized cat, I actually don't know. She only answers calls through the crystal. Recently she had proven to be quite the invaluable companion."

"I was thinking about getting a mount, but since I'm a slime I figured I'd just roll about instead."

"Couldn't you like. . . become a horse or something?"

"Do you know how to run like a horse?"

"Fair enough."

"I already tried it truth be told. I can't fly like any creature due to my body being made of slime. I have no clue on how to be an animal anyway. So I'm between a ball and me."

"Not many can be a ball."

Kan'na was flipping through various scrolls. She decided she needed to clean up some of the junk from the office.

She picked up a spell and quickly examined it. She immediately frowned, 'This is Chain Lightning. . . did I make two of them?'

She tried remembering. She had, in fact, made two Chain Lightnings. However one was a complete failure and she tore it apart.

'What did I give Akiol then?!'

Yet for the life of her she could not remember the specifics. She could have sworn it was a Chain Lightning, it had a sequence dedicated to the 'Chain' part!

It struck her, 'It wasn't that one right?!'

She frantically searched through her scrolls, but her fear seemed to come true.

While Kan'na was creating various scrolls, she would occasionally get a spark of inspiration. This would be frantically written down for further scrutinizing and tweaking. Mainly due to her not wanting the inspiration to vanish due to a distraction, these spells were very poorly made.

By poor it didn't mean just bad in effect, rather it meant that it wasn't optimized at all. Meaning the effect could either be vastly larger or smaller than intended. Sometimes she would write the sequence wrong, giving the spell an entirely different effect.

'I hope he doesn't have to use it.'

"It's showtime."

Akiol stood up, "So we are just going to charge in there right?"

"Yep! You take the left, I take the right."

"Then we meet by the entrance?"

"That works, slaughter our way towards the entrance. Then slaughter our way through the hideout."

Akiol shook his head, it was reckless to be honest. He hadn't seen Opportunity's ability to fight yet, however he was sure she was strong due to her confidence.

"Then let's go."

The two ran towards the base, their footsteps quick yet quiet. Akiol was pleasantly surprised to see that Opportunity was faster than him. Even if he wasn't using {Expeditious Steps} it meant that Opportunity was not weak in stats, at least not in Agility.

Once the base was in view the two unsheathed their weapons. A player noticed them approached and shouted, "Stop-!"

Opportunity's axe flickered and the player's head went flying.

The two split off, since the player shouted the base went into a chain reaction of alert. Players began storming out to battle against the intruders.

Someone shouted, "It's merely two idiots! Take them down!"

Opportunity's arm flashed a white-gold color. She swung it towards a group of players.

[God's Avatar: Cleave]!

A large white-gold silhouette of an arm holding a hand-axe appeared and carved through the players.

There was a reason why Opportunity Strikes was firmly believed to be the strongest player in Travis' past timeline.

It was because she was the holder of one of the strongest God's Chosen Blessing!
