Chapter 33 : Reunion

In the evening Rosie was walking with her friend Anna and her Uncle through the streets of Aetheria towards the orphanage. Suddenly the ground shook a little and shortly afterwards a noise came from the direction of the church. 

The old man picked Anna up and, hold Rosie by her hand, began to walk in a hurry towards the church. He was afraid that something might had happened to the orphanage.

As the church entered their sight… I mean, as whatever was left behind from the church entered their sight, they saw a man running towards them. Was he a priest? maybe someone even more important because his clothes were not what an ordinary clergyman would wear and what was that stone under his arm? 

The old man bowed his head reflexively out of respect to this holy man. The priest ignored him completely and ran past him, at that moment the old man felt something slipping out of his hand, it was... Rosie.

The priest grabbed her by the collar and dragged her away, Rosie screamed in despair, tearfully reaching out her hand towards the old man and Anna, 

"Noooo! My first and only friend" 

The priest smacked her on the head and said, "What the fuck are you talking about? Your first friend is right here next to you!" 

Rosie held her head in pain, looked up towards the priest's face and said, 

"Satoo?!" 

"Satoo! Of course Satoo, do you have any idea what I went through while you were out having fun with our money? And what was that thing about my first friend? Did you forget me just because you wandered around on your own for a day? You unfaithful bastard!" 

Rosie didn't look happy at all, she crossed her arms and pouted. As Satoshi continued to drag her away he said,

"Hey, how about you run on your own?''

"No, I'm good''

'It wasn't a fucking suggestion, ahhh anyways…'

Satoshi stopped, put the stone on Rosie's lap, then picked her up and kept running. Even though Rosie was still pouting, you could see that her cheeks were slightly blushing.

As Satoshi ran passed in front of a bakery, he exchanged a quick glance with a group of uncles, at that moment it was as if everything was moving slowly in Satoshi's eyes...

The uncles stared at him then looked at each other in panic and gave Satoshi a thumbs down. They pulled out a jacket and started to put it on. You could see on their faces that they were uneasy, but why? Satoshi thought,

'What is it this time? Last time you didn't approve of me letting Rosie go alone, now you don't approve of me taking her with me, what do you want me to do?'

Satoshi looked down at Rosie in his arms, her face flushed red, she was wearing a children's hat with rabbit. Then he looked at his own clerical attire and in his own way he nodded in approval of the elder's reaction,

'Hmm understandable...'

After running hundreds of meters away from the church, Satoshi stopped in front of a building made of a white and shiny material, just like the rest of the district but this building was bigger than the others and, judging by the number of windows, it had many rooms. 

After he put Rosie down, his legs began to tremble as his adrenaline ran out and he fell on his ass on the ground. As he rested, he looked up at the sky and breathed like a dog.

After Rosie examined the gem in her hand for a while, her eyes lit up and the gem disappeared from her hands, when Satoshi saw this, he jumped up and shouted at Rosie,

"What the fuck did you do?! Do you know how much I sacrificed to get that gem?''

Rosie reached her hands forward, opened them and her eyes lit up once more and the gem appeared in her hands, then she said,

"Calm down, I'm just sending it to my mana space''

Then she disappeared the gem again. Satoshi was impressed by this spell and asked,

"Hey, can anyone do this?''

''If you can learn and you have a sufficient amount of mana, it's possible''

"Well, why the fuck didn't you show me this spell before? We could have steal the soldiers armor and hide it''

''First of all, it's not exactly a spell because it doesn't reduce your mana when you use it and secondly, do you really think I haven't thought about it? I may be a little silly about other things, but don't underestimate me when it comes to magic!''

''Then how do you do this 'non spell' thing?''

''The first requirement is that the item you want to send to the mana space must either carry mana itself or have a magical gem embedded on it. Of course, I have never seen an item that can carry mana without gems...''

"Hmm, so can we vanish my sword?''

''I don't think we can. I didn't see any gemstones on it.''

''So let's say the requirements are fulfilled, then what?''

...

While they were chatting, someone approached Satoshi from behind and called out to him,

''Your excellence, you're back early!''

Satoshi had heard 'Your excellence' addressed to him all day, so he knew immediately that he was being addressed. He quickly covered his face with his veil and turned around, trying to put on a serious expression.

He was a beast-folk, a fox to be exact, he had the classic golden trimmed white armor and had a banner sized cape sagging off of his shoulder which had the same symbol as the one on the statue of Aurora in the church

Satoshi's expression, which was trying to be serious, turned contemptuous. Beast-folk looked into Satoshi's eyes and immediately knew that he was disturbed by something and bowed his head. Satoshi thought to himself,

'God has already punished you once by creating you as a ginger, so why are you doing it a second time by choosing to be a servant of Aurora? You pathetic bastard'
