Chapter 38: Requests

Lucias said as he patted Koneko's head with a light smile on his face before pulling her closer to his body.

"Then... how about our request?"

"..."

"What? Don't tell me that you're not planning to keep your words?"

"No, I'm a man of my word so tell me what do you want and I'll fulfill it as much as I can"

Lucias responded with a slight grin on his face while hugging Koneko in his embrace causing the nekoshou to blush from his unrestrained actions.

"Ara Ara"

Akeno held her cheek with her hand while smiling mischievously at his direction causing him to shiver in fear from sensing the familiar lustful gaze directed at his body.

"... Just don't ask anything unreasonable"

"What do you mean by unreasonable?"

Rias asked while crossing her arms around her chest, waiting for him to answer his question.

"Just say your request, if I deem it as unreasonable or impossible to do then I'm sorry but I suggest that you should change your request"

"Then... I want to sleep in the same room as you"

Koneko suddenly said as she looked up to him with her golden colored eyes filled with expectation and anticipation of his answer.

"That's a bit..."

Lucias answered with a complicated expression on his face causing the nekoshou on his lap to lower her head with a downcast expression on her face as she continued to eat the cake on the table.

"... If it's just sleeping then, I guess it's fine"

Lucias said in a helpless tone as he patted Koneko on her head.

"Really!?"

She asked in excitement from hearing his approval but still decided to ask to confirm what she heard.

"Yes, I'll stay here for the night since the mansion is quite busy right now"

Lucias answered in affirmation while remembering the current situation of the faction that made Asia, and the Spirits to return and aid the officials in the preparation for an upcoming exhibition to hunt down the beings under Xaosis' command, while Asia, Kurome, Akame, Kuroka, and Bell trained inside the instant dungeon that he created.

"How about you, Akeno?"

Lucias asked as he gazed back at Akeno who was standing behind him with a mettalic tray in her hand.

"Ara, then I would like to go on a date with you~"

"A date?"

"Yes~"

Akeno answered in affirmation while smiling sweetly at his direction.

"...Sure"

Lucias nodded his head with slight hesitation as he couldn't remove the feeling of unease when the thought of having a date with Akeno came inside his mind.

"Ara Ara~ I'll make sure you'll enjoy this 'date' of ours, Lucias"

Akeno said as she seductively licked her lips in front of Lucias who shivered in fear from her gaze.

"T-Then, Rias, how about you?"

Lucias asked as he tried to ignore Akeno who was hungrily staring at his back with a forced smile on his face.

"Hmm... Then will you go on a date with me too, Lucias?"

"..."

"... Were not going to do anything, you'll just accompany me to a signing event held by my favourite mangaka"

Rias added as soon as she saw the hesitation in his eyes causing her to sigh, not knowing why Lucias disliked the thought of being with her.

"If that's the case then sure, but a mangaka, huh? I never knew you had this side of yours, Rias"

"... Is it weird?"

"What?"

"... Is it weird for me to like this kinds of things?"

Rias asked while lowering her head as she gripped the table with her hands, waiting for him to answer her question.

"Not really, why would it be weird? This is something you enjoy, and I have no right to critize you since what you're doing is not wrong. You're just enjoying your life like everyone else, as long as you don't become a second Issei, then your good to go"

Lucias answered without a change in his expression causing her to look at him in surprise.

"What?"

"Nothing... it's just that I expected a more... harsh answer from you"

"... It's not that I hate you, Rias. It's just that... I dislike the reckless and spoiled side of yours, normally I wouldn't mind but, you have the hope of your clan on your back as the sole heir of the Gremory Clan"

"..."

"In the past, I hated your personality because instead of facing your responsibilities, you instead ran away with the pretext of proving yourself to your family"

"But now, I guess I don't hate you as much as I did in the past. Even though your quite spoiled, you're just like any girl, and you know how to truly care and love your allies and your family"

"I'll try my best to change you, that's why don't expect me to leave your side until I achieved my goal"

'... I can't really leave them alone... Issei and Rias is a magnet for trouble... I want to at least give them enough competence to face those problems themselves'

Rias who heard his words, shyly turned her body around to hide the intense blush visible on her cheeks as she tried to calm herself down.

Lucias thought as he saw the sudden change in the translucent window above her head.

"Ara Ara, you're quite a sinful man, Lucias"

Akeno teased as she watched her King shyly hid her embarrassment from Lucias.

"Womanizer"

Koneko said in dissatisfaction as she ate the desserts on the table with a light frown on her face.

"... Just continue eating, Koneko"

"... So the date is scheduled to start by Sunday, huh?"

Lucias muttered as he walked towards the student council room where Sona is currently staying at due to her responsibilities as the president of the student council.

"I might have to leave school after a few days, so I might as well visit her or else... she might sulk again"

Lucias said as he arrived in front of the student council, carrying a small box in his hand containg the engagement ring that he made especially for Sona.

"Sona, can I come in?"

Lucias asked as he knocked on the door of the student council while hiding the box in his pocket.

"L-Lucias!? C-Come in"

Sona answered behind the door in a flustered voice causing Lucias to silently chuckle as he opened the door.

"W-What's wrong, Lucias?"

Sona asked as soon as he entered the room with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Where's everyone else?"

Lucias asked as he searched around the room.

"They're currently with the Judo Club, why?"

"Nothing"

Lucias said with a slight smile on his face before walking towards Sona who was shyly averting her eyes.

"You're shy appearance is quite cute, Sona"

"W-Who's shy!? I-I just feel uncomfortable that all!"

"Is that so?"

Lucias muttered with a mischievous smile before carrying her body as he sat down on her seat before making her sit on his lap.

"W-What are you doing!?"

"Is it still uncomfortable, Sona?"

Lucias whispered close to her ear, causing her to jolt from the feeling of his warm breath on her skin.

"S-Someone will see us!!"

Sona shouted as she tried to struggle but failed as Lucias wrapped his arms around her body to prevent her from escaping.

"Don't worry, I locked the door before I went inside so no-one can come in"

"T-That doesn't mean-"

"Do you hate it, Sona?"

Lucias asked causing her to stop her words mid-way through her sentence as she gazed back at Lucias who was burying his face on her shoulder.

"It's not that I hate it..."

"Then, you don't mind right?"

"... Fine... j-just don't do anything that can expose us..."

Sona answered with a slight blush on her cheeks causing Lucias to smile as he hugged her from behind.

"I love you, Sona"

"D-Don't suddenly say stuff like that"

Sona said in a weak voice as she tried to hide her expression from Lucias who was having fun teasing her.

"... Lucias... Why did you suddenly visited? I thought that you were busy for the next couple of days?"

Sona asked as she felt his hands gently held her own causing her to unconsciously smile from feeling his warmth.

"... Sona, I might leave school for a couple of days, and... I suggest that you go back to the underworld for the time being where you can be safe"

Lucias said with concern visible in his voice, remembering Xoasis who threatened him with his fiancées.

"... Lucias"

"Please... I don't want you to get hurt, you can still stay here for 2 months, but longer than that is dangerous"

"... Tell me what happened first"

Sona asked as she tightly held his hands, gazing at him with a serious expression on her face.

"... You will know in the future... it's just that right now isn't the time for you to know"

Lucias shook his head before pulling her closer in his embrace.

"... you don't trust me, Lucias?"

Sona asked with a pained expresion as she gazed back at Lucias.

"It's not that... I trust you very much but, knowing too much might put you in danger"

Lucias said while shaking his head causing the her to stare at him in confusion as she couldn't understand why he was so... afraid.

"... *Sigh* fine, I won't ask anymore if you don't want to tell me but... I know you're a high ranking officer in your faction. I just want you to do one thing for me"

Sona sighed in defeat causing Lucias to smile as he gave her a short kiss on her cheeks.

"What is it?"

"... Just stay safe... I know that the Forsaken Faction has been protecting this world and keeping the other factions at bay... but since the problem involves the entire factions. It will be dangerous, right?"

"... Yes, the situation right now is grave... I'm sure that many will die after this"

"... Lucias... if you say something like that... it makes me want to not let you go"

"Sorry... but don't worry, I'm strong enough to handle myself"

"... I'll curse you if you die, Lucias... I'll kill myself if I ever hear news about your death"

"... I know"

Lucias said, noticing that her grip on his hands became stronger when he mentioned the word 'death' in their conversation.

"... Look at me, Sona"

Lucias said causing her to shake her head in rejection but Lucias pulled her head, facing his direction.

Lucias then sealed her lips with his, catching her by surprise from his sudden actions.

"Mnn"

Sona hummed between their kiss as she tried to push him away, but failed as she felt her strength leave her body, causing her to limply lay in his embrace as he devoured her soft lips.

"There's only a few people that can kill me in this world, and... I don't plan on dying just yet"

Lucias said before standing up from his seat whike carrying her in his arms.

"L-Lucias, where are you taking me?"

"On the sofa"

Lucias answered with a nonchalantly expression on his face as he placed her sitting on the sofa.

"L-Lucias...?"

"hmm?"

"D-Don't you think that... it's a bit too early for this?"

"No"

Lucias said as he gave her a short kiss on her lips.

"I will leave you a small remembrance so you wouldn't miss me when I'm out for a few months... or even years"

"W-Wait, today is not my safe day! I-I'm not ready to become a mother yet!"

"... What are you talking about?"

Lucias asked in confusion from hearing her words as he took out the a small box from his pocket.

"H-Huh?"

Sona muttered as she saw the small box in his hand, watching him take out a simple engagement ring inside the box before placing it directly in her ring finger.

"Since we're engaged, it's only natural that we both have an engagement ring, right?"

"... THEN TELL THAT TO ME FIRST!"
