Chapter 11: Recapturing Greenland (6)

"ARGHHH!!!!"

A demon shouted as she swung her sword towards Lucias, causing him to shift his body to the side before sending an uppercut towards the demon's stomach. Sending her slightly above ground as Lucias kicked her body at full force towards the army of demons behind her. Pushing them back before scorching jet-black flames suddenly engulfed them. Burning all of them to ashes.

"W-Why isn't he getting tired!?"

The general shouted as he watched Lucias easily dodged another attack at his back. Turning his body around and grabbing the demon by the head before placing it in front of him. Using it as a shield to block all arrows aimed in his direction before setting it flames and throwing it above the sky.

"Die!!"

Another demon shouted as prepared to stab Lucias with his sword. Making him catch the blade with his bare fingers before shattering it into pieces. Shocking the demon before receiving a powerful kick on his face. Sending him flying to the army of demons charging at him as Lucias elbowed the demon that was going to attack him from behind on his face.

"G-General shouldn't we-"

"I don't give a shit! It's just one person! Why is it so difficult for-"

He shouted towards his men before he watched him get stabbed in the face by a sword. Piercing him through the back of his head as he lifelessly fell on the ground. Making the general's complexion pale as a large barrage of flames suddenly devoured Lucias' entire location. Burning all of the demons around him.

"..."

Lucias then grabbed two swords from the corpses of his victim before stabbing one of them to the demon at his back. Slicing the demon sideways from his stomach before he adjusted the grip on his sword and stabbed the demon in front of him on his chest in quick succession.

"Lucias, you're mana is dropping at a dangerous level"

The 'creator' warned, but Lucias didn't show any expression on his face as he continued to slice through the demons charging around him. Piling up bodies beneath his feet, forming a small hill below him. Making him smile as he used it to his advantage to take the high ground and not be overwhelmed by their numbers.

"AHHHH-"

A demon screamed before slashing his sword at Lucias sideways, causing Lucias to quickly jump. Twisting his body in the air before sending a kick towards the back of his head. Crushing his skull as his head crashed against the piles of corpses on the ground.

He then landed on his hands before spinning his body around. Sending a kick towards the head of a nearby demon before he quickly recovered his stance. Making all of the demons around him look at him in both awe and fear as he stood at the top of the piles of corpses below him.

"ATTACK HIM!!! HE'S JUST ONE PERSON SO OVERWHELM HIM WITH OUR NUMBERS!!"

The demon general shouted while pointing his finger at Lucias, causing all of the demon soldiers to swallow their fear before they began to climb the piles of corpses. Stepping on the bodies of their fallen allies.

"This guys just don't know how to give up"

Lucias muttered before catching an arrow aimed at his head with his bare hands and stabbing it at the demon that managed to climb on his head. Making his body fall to the ground, adding to the mountain of corpses below them.

"[Trace]"

Lucias muttered as 10 needles suddenly appeared between his fingers. Shooting it accurately towards the mages who were preparing a spell to bombard him. Killing them in quick succession as the needle pierced through the third eye on their heads.

"ARGHH!!"

A demon who managed to climb up shouted causing Lucias to strike an uppercut towards his chin, breaking his jaw before getting kicked away by Lucias. Slowly, they managed to climb up the mountain of corpses that Lucias made.

He then quickly pushed the fist of the demon in front of him to the side before sending a powerful blow towards his chest. Breaking the demon's rib and bursting many of his internal organs. Making her spit out blood as Lucias quickly shifted his head forward. Dodging a spear that was aimed at his temples.

"Shit"

The demon said as he tried to take back his weapon, but was still far too slow as Lucias grabbed his spear and pulled his body towards him. Piercing both of his eyes with his finger before grabbing his forehead with his thumb at the top of the demon's head. Crushing it with raw strength along with the demon's third eye.

"Est, sword now"

Lucias said while wiping the blood off his cheek, causing a white sword to appear on his right hand. While another batch of demons attacked him from all sides.

"..."

Lucias remained silent as he sliced the right hand of a nearby demon beside him. Making him drop his weapon before Lucias grabbed it and stabbed it in the chin of the demon at his other side.

He then repositioned his grip on his sword so that the blade would be pointing behind him. Stabbing the demon that attacked him from the back before repositioning his grip on his hilt again with his palm facing the sky. Slicing the demon behind him into two before swinging down his sword to the demon in front of him. Diagonally slicing the demon's face as all 4 of the bodies fell on the pile of corpses below them.

"It smells disgusting"

Lucias muttered as their blood rained down on his body. Drenching him with a pungent smell while blood dripped down from his face like water. Sending shivers down the attacking demon's spine as Lucias set his eyes on them. 

"C-CHARGE!!! ABANDON YOUR FEAR AND KILL HIM!!!"

The higher-ranking demons shouted as the archers all fired at Lucias all at once. Taking advantage of when none of their own allies were around him to avoid accidentally injuring or killing their own allies.

"[Reflect]"

Lucias muttered before swinging his sword around him as soon as the arrows were close to him, causing all of the projectiles around him to change their trajectory and fired towards the archers. Making all of the archers sweat in fear as a rain of arrows fired in their direction. Killing several archers at once while the others managed to dodge it.

"HAHHHH!!!"

A large demon soldier carrying a two-handed axe, swung his axe at Lucias, causing him to raise his sword with his left land holding its blade. Making the axe in the demon's hands to redirect its trajectory. Smashing on the ground beside him as Lucias sliced his face in half using his sword. 

He then kicked the large corpse off to the ground before he kicked the gigantic axe down the slope of the piles of corpses. Slicing the demons at the front in half as all of them got pushed downwards due to the extreme force and weight on the axe.

"FUCKIN KILL HIM YOU PRICKS!!"

The demon general shouted in anger as Lucias kicked the sword on his foot towards the demon general. Stabbing him from his mouth to the back of his head as another sword stabbed the middle of his forehead. Making his body fall on its knees before completely falling on the ground.

 "T-The general's dead!!! Retreat!!! Retreat now!!!"

The second in command shouted causing all of the demons to abandon their weapons before completely running in the direction of their camp. Making Lucias smile as a suffocating pressure suddenly erupted from his head body. Pinning the demons a few meters away from him to the ground as they struggled to breathe due to the immense pressure pressed against their bodies.

"M-Mages!! Distract him!!"

The second in command shouted causing all of the mages to raise their staffs in the air as hundreds of large boulders came flying towards Lucias' direction.

"You should think twice before launching any kind of projectiles at me"

He said before jumping towards the boulders at full speed. Landing on top of it before kicking it back to the mages on the ground.

"W-What-"

The mages muttered before getting crushed by the large boulder along with the soldiers dazedly staring at the scene behind them.

"R-RUN!!! ABANDON ALL OF YOUR COMMANDS AND QUICKLY RUN BACK TO THE BASE!!!"

The second in command said as a boulder suddenly crushed his entire body to the ground. Making Lucias smile in amusement before sending all boulders back to them. Killing several weaker demons at once.

"[Mana String]"

Lucias casted before swinging his hand in front of him. Firing a small orb of mana on the demon's skin as a thin string of mana appeared between his hand at the demons.

"H-Help me"

One of the demons said before getting pulled towards Lucias with a fear-stricken expression on his face. 

"AHHH-"

"H-HELP-"

The demons all screamed in fear as they were pulled towards Lucias one by one before getting killed by getting sliced into several pieces by his sword. Creating piles of the body below him as he slowly walked towards the retreating army with a casual smile on his face.

"They're running away again... just when I was having fun"

Lucias muttered with a dissatisfied expression on his face while watching their forces retreat. He could kill them from this distance but due to him keeping the barrier intact. He couldn't deplete too much mana or else it would collapse and allow their enemies to teleport as they please in this dimension.

-with Zhuge Liang-

"So... care to talk?"

Zhuge Liang said while looking down at the two demons that were tied to a tree with a rope of mana. Surrounded by many veteran soldiers from the Forsaken Faction, causing the two demons to tremble in fear as this could be their last day.

"W-What do you want to know?"

The demon asked, causing Zhuge Liang to smile before signalling for the soldiers around him to untie the rope binding their body to help them.

"You talked about a... revolution correct? I want you to explain it to me in full details... and we might be able to help you depending on your answer"

Zhuge Liang said with a serious expression on his face, causing the two demons to widen their eyes in surprise before looking at each other.

"Y-You heard us?"

"You were pretty loud so I managed to hear it. So care to tell me about it?"

He asked causing both of the soldiers to hesitate.

"I-If we do tell you, w-will you help us?"

"That depends on you, demon. If it benefits us then, we'll lend you our aid, but if it doesn't... then we won't and just continue the war as it is. What do you say?"

He said with a friendly and approachable expression on his face. Making the demons relax for a bit.

"T-Then, a-as you already know... the middle-class demons at our dimension started to form a separate faction from the nobility and the poor. We are losing too many of our people every single day because of the war and a few nobility and the middle-class people couldn't tolerate it any further... that is why they formed a revolutionary group that aims to overthrow the current royalty and nobilities at our dimension, b-but..."

"We lack military power, even though we're in the majority. The one that controls our current dimension is the True God of Envy, someone who could massacre us... We could handle her but... the royalty and majority of the nobilities are working with her that's why none of us dared to move for the last 4 years until we can finally accumulate enough military strength"

They honestly answered. Looking at Zhuge Liang with a hint of hope in their eyes.

"Only the poor, who were promised great riches and had nothing to lose, as well as the nobilities wholeheartedly joined the war... but many of us were forced to be deployed in this place only to die... but we can't act too suspicious or else they'll find out about the existence of the revolutionary army... We want to end this war... don't you all want that too? Y-You can negotiate with our leader for the terms and conditions that you want in exchange for lending your aid... This war has been going on for far too long... even though we are suffering from famine, lack of resources, and hunger, with your technology you can easily help us right? We'll accept any of your conditions so PLEASE HELP US!"

They pleaded as they kneeled in front of Zhuge Liang with a desperate expression on their face since this is the only chance that they have to negotiate with the alliance. In most cases, they will be killed on the spot due to the hostility that the alliance hold against them.

"... How many are you in the revolutionary army?"

He asked causing the two demons to brightly smile in response.

"A-About a 3rd of the demon soldiers sent in this dimension belongs to the revolutionary army... and at home, we have at least a few million members, and it's rapidly increasing each day since the people are getting sick of the war"

He said, causing Zhuge Liang to contemplate since he didn't really have any authority to decide something as crucial as this... but there's a large chance that Riku or Lucias agrees since more allies would significantly help them in winning this war.

"... Are there any other forces in your dimension that are against the rule of the demons?"

He asked out in curiosity, causing both of their demons to frown. Remembering the only force in their dimension that managed to push back the demons. But due to them gaining control over mana and magic. Those forces were significantly suppressed and remained dormant up until now.

"... The True Goddess of Envy's husband, and humanity... They are the other forces that oppose the rule Roxanne's rule"

"Her husband? Why would her own husband oppose her?"

"... It's actually a long story but to put it shortly... both Roxanne and her husband are the creator of our dimension. Making it through their ideals, and constructed each organism according to those ideals including humans... but ever since her husband has shown favoritism to humanity... Their relationship broke apart and the True Goddess of Envy created the demons to ravage and destroy humanity in her jealousy-"

"You don't need to continue... I think I can already guess what happened next"

Zhuge Liang said. Stopping the demons from continuing their story. He could guess that because of her action, her husband retaliated and fought against her creation. This has caused conflicts to spark against the two married couples repeatedly. Dividing their rule over the dimension.

"... So she was called the True Goddess of Envy for a reason... so... what are the chances that her husband would agree in joining an alliance with you?"

"... It's possible since they're also in a desperate situation but... we haven't managed to contact them at all during the duration of the war... Many of us speculated that this is the work of her husband, but... there's absolutely no way that True God would waste his time to meet us... that's why we haven't established an alliance with them until now"

They explained causing Zhuge Liang to dive into deep thought as he started to decide on his next actions. This could help them weaken them from the inside. Even though it sounded unbelievable, he could detect that they weren't lying at all.. but he still needs to check the authenticity of the information.

"Then... We'll first investigate your dimension ourselves... after that, we'll decide on whether or not to form an alliance with you demons... but if ever you two are deceiving us... I think I don't need to continue my words, correct?"

He warned, causing both of the demons to furiously nod their head in response.

"I will report this first to the higher-ups, so for now, you'll have to stay at our prison since we can't really trust you that much, is that alright with you?"
