"What? I thought you just wanted to celebrate my birthday with me…"

Angelie furrowed her eyebrows as she looked back at her parents.

"Of course... But we're also worried about you. Living all by yourself while the both of us are so far away… Who wouldn't be worried as parents?"

Charlotte stood up and walked closer to Angelie. She then held her daughter's shoulders as they stood face to face.

"I thought you trusted me—"

"We did! We still do! But clearly, no matter how much we trust you, other people will still do things beyond our control!"

Kohei stared at his daughter as he slammed the table with his closed fist.

"First of all, no matter how that guy looked like, he isn't someone who will do the things that you're worried about…"
