pounce. It leaped and dived toward Darey, mouth open and ready to devour.

"Oh no you don't" Darey said, dodging the monster's attacks.

"Looks like n matter how powerful or big you guys are, a monster is still a monster" Darey said with a smile.

They were all decently powerful, but their lack of intelligence was usually what led Darey to victory. After facing off against so many, he had learned their patterns, and certain things about them. Monsters are mutated animals, affected by whatever it was that was released that led to THE RUIN. Darey didn't know what it was, but he knew the world was filled with that energy, and for some reason he wasn't being affected anymore.... Because he had awakened.
