She held his arm and looked into his eyes. "Promise me you will take good care of our son, Darius."
He didn't know what to tell her. She had such high hopes in him doing as she asked that he couldn't bring himself to tell her what he had in mind.
He brought her food to her. She didn't have any appetite to eat but she forced a bite into her mouth.
"I need to. For our baby." She smiled, making it even harder for him to tell her the truth. However, he couldn't lead her on anymore.

"I know. But we both know it was going to happen one day, after all. You're immortal but I'm not." Halfway through her coaxing, the meaning of his words sank in and she was in disbelief. "Tell me you are not suggesting I get rid of this child." Her voice trembled.
