Chapter 50: What Kind of Man Does That?

[24A, Seletar Hill Drive - Jackie’s Residence]

The next morning, Jackie was still half-asleep when a text message came in. She checked, and to her surprise, it was from Bob. She swiped her screen immediately.

*Bob: Hi, Jackie. See you on Tuesday. Will explain everything. I miss you.*

She pursed her lips.

“Well, Mr. Robert Tang... You’ll have to wait till next week to get my response!” she muttered to herself then sighed softly.

Just as she was about to put the phone down, another message alert chimed. It was from Henry. When she read his text, she was shocked!

*What’s this... Daphne got involved with Arno? She’s in bad shape? And Henry has evidence of Arno’s complicity in the emerald issue? Exactly what’s happening here?*

Jackie immediately pulled herself out of bed and gathered her thoughts.

*Oh, gawd! I shouldn’t have left Daphne alone last night. What was I thinking? What’s this about Arno and my emerald necklace -- is he playing games?*
