Chapter 35: The Phone Call

[Colonial Inn, Fraser’s Hill]

When they entered the coffeehouse, Natasha led Ralph to a table in a quiet corner with a view of the town below.

“Coffee?”

“Yes, thank you.” His tone was much warmer now.

“So, can you tell me more about this deal?” She tilted her head somewhat coquettishly.

Ralph eyed her steadily.

“Well, it’s quite simple, actually. All I need for you to do is send a text to someone.”

“What? It can’t be that simple, I’m sure. To whom?”

“Jacqueline Mitchell.”

Natasha stared at him with her eyes wide open.

“Who did you say? Do you mean Jackie? Just how… how do you know her?”

Ralph didn’t repeat himself but just continued to gaze at her impassively.

“I mean… doesn’t that mean you know Bob, too?”

“Of course… He is my brother. I’m Ralph Tang.”

“You’re his brother?” Natasha uttered, drawing in her breath. “Yes… come to think of it, you do have his looks.”

She giggled flirtatiously, then added, “I must say, you’re a very handsome guy, Ralph.”
