Chapter 16: More Than Meets the Eye, Part 1

The girls were running wild in the garden as Bob helped Tengku with the luggage.

“Girls, go bring your things to your room,” Sharifah called out to her two hyperactive children.

“Okay, Mummy,” came their immediate response.

“I'll take these, *Sayang*. Why don’t you stay here with Jackie?” Tengku took the bags from his wife, just as the housekeeper appeared with a large tray.

“*Selamat pagi*, Puan Sharifah,” she greeted.

“How are you, Nadia?” Sharifah replied, smiling kindly. “Oh, my girls miss your cooking so much. They were talking about it the whole drive up here.”

The housekeeper looked pleased. She poured the ladies their drinks before she left to fetch the rest of their breakfast.

“You must have left KL rather early, Sharifah,” Jackie said.

“Yes, right after morning prayers. Anyway, the girls were up very early -- they’ve been looking forward to this trip since their father mentioned it.”

“They’re so sweet. And how old are Azeela and Nabeela?”
