Letter inside the envelope

A man stood on the stage and took a mike, coughed slightly to attract the attention of the crowd. As the people below saw the familiar face, most were shocked and even some fell to the ground on their butt.

"Ahh!! I think most of you are happy and excited to see me. It's my greatest pleasure but Sorry by the way, a new CEO can't be appointed as the old CEO or to say your dear Neil aka me has returned back and will whole heartily take the position. No need to waste your energy. I only had a small scratch after the incident so it took me some days to heal. I am now in tip-top condition and can assume my position. I know no one will veto it (chuckling a little).

Anyways it's the anniversary banquet so 'Happy 5th anniversary to all of you'. May we will all grow together and reach the peak and yeah…I have prepared a gift to each and everyone of you. Don't reject it. Thank to all of your hard work for organizing such a great banquet. Also, the representative of my fellow Corps or those who aren't directly related to ANB Corps; Please do enjoy the banquet and leave your name. I have to visit your Corps to thank your leader personally for supporting ANB during my absence." Arik was showing his best smile but the people below were feeling chill all over their body.

The powerful rivals were still fine but those weak were shaking with the presence of Neil.

"It is our pleasure to support ANB during your absence CEO Neil. No need to show your appreciation. We did what we have to do." One of the rival commented. A few weaker supported, congratulated for the anniversary and backed off from the banquet making some excuses.

They couldn't directly say that it was better not to visit them but their facial expression betrayed.

A handful of rival still dared to stay. It was unexpected but on this banquet almost every staff of ANB Corps were present. Arik asked one of Neil's assistant to make a table on the front to be cleared and invite those representative of the rival group.

Out of the seat, one was occupied by Arik while another by Shikhar. Other representative were seated on the remaining seat and Arik greeted all one by one.

Beside that front seat, the banquet was in pin-drop silent after Arik's word. No one moved or dared to breathe loudly to make notice of their presence. All people's eye were glued on the face of the man who was seated on the front table.

More to say the happiness, all were horrific. None have thought that one day Neil will return back.

Josh with those four aid distributed an envelope to each and every members and employee. No one dared to open.

Seeing the situation Shikhar laughed, "Haha, Neil won't you tell them to open their gift. If you don't say anything I don't think they will dare to open."

"Why don't you say in my instead?" Arik rolled his eyes.

Out of those people the one who was selected as Ceo previously opened his envelope and inside was a letter. Seeing the letter he was hell surprised that his eye were wide open.

"Nah, Nah…how can it be…how…I can't lose it. Is it a prank?...yes, yes…it should be." The man began to mumble on his own but still people near him heard.

Human are the most curious creation and even knowing something may not be good they still can't control their action. The situation of his ignited few people and they opened their envelope one by one.

Soon, the banquet was in uproar. Most of the people had their face paled, some were mumbling on their own and some even fell on their but and their hand squeezing their head in frustration. Some had no reaction.

The preceptor of the incident was enjoying drinks. Hearing the chatter Arik, slowly spoke, "I don't think I can greet you longer. I need to excuse myself so I would request dear guest to return back. It is an personal issue of ANB so it would be better if my guests stay out of it. For the disturbance of today, I will toast you all few days later." Arik tried to act friendly but still his tone was not so polite.

Hearing his request all guest backed off but still few tried to leave their spy so they could get information of the situation. The movement weren't hidden by Arik's eyes but he acted as if he didn't see anything.

He needed some outsider that could circulate the news of what will happen later and few presented themselves to do the work. Why waste their effort?

After those guest backed off, one of the member of board of director boldly questioned Arik.

"Mr. Neil, is it a prank? What do you mean by it?" His tone was full o accusation.

Hearing it, Arik stayed silent while sipping his drink.

After that few unsatisfied member joined the men to question Arik. Out of all those who decide to be neutral till the end only haven't received an envelope. The silent banquet was filled with noise. Even those who were feeling sleepy before were wide awake.

Shikar was looking everyone with interest. He didn't know what was in the envelope but still he was excited with the outcome.

The noise made Arik irritated plus he hadn't slept well after returning back to Grasal. Signalling Josh to bring the mike, Arik put down his glass.

"I thought everyone was literate and could read the words clearly. Am I mistaken? (Acting to be confused) I don't have time to play prank so the word literally means what is written. Are you not satisfied with the gift?" Arik mocked. His friendly tone was nowhere to be found.

"What do you mean Mr. Neil?...We don't agree…" Some began to chimed.

"Oh!! Is that so? (Chuckling) I don't think you guys have right to show dissatisfaction. The main objective of the letter won't change anyway." Arik stated the fact.

"Mr. Neil, how can you decide on your own. We don't accept you as the CEO. What right do you have to decide all these? It's all a waste of your effort…" Some began to make comment.

Still Arik wasn't angry. "Why is that so?"

"We…we have already gathered 20…no-no 30 percent of the share and rest are with the Chairman. Chairman Sir won't interfere in our matter so we have the right to choose the CEO. And beside that you are incompetent so back off." One of the bold director made a remark and other supported him.

Shikar laughed out loud, "Neil, vey interesting. Who gave them the courage? They are bring their own doom…haha…IDIOTS." He was very interested to see the next scene.
