Act as losing memory

In a serious tone Shikar spoke each word clear and loud, "Arik, impersonate as Neil and marry Mega."

"WHAT?? What do you mean to marry her? Bro, she is my sister-in-law and not just nobody." Arik was hell surprised by the proposal.

"I know, I was only keeping her condition in mind. In her current situation, she can't handle the news of Neil's being comatose. Plus, it is not good for child growth too." Shikhar spoke in a low voice.

"I understand your point but that doesn't mean I have to marry her. Seriously Bro, what's going on your mind?" Arik had a feeling that Shikar had some more to say.

"Hey Arik, I am not saying you to marry her in real or make her your wife. She will be your and mine sister-in-law forever. Fake a marriage, act as Neil to improve her health." Shikar hollered.

"Bro, marriage is a marriage not a paying thing.(Taking a deep breath) Okay, let me hear your thought in detail. How do you expect me to fake a marriage?" Arik tried to compromise. He knew Shikar won't plan worst for him.

"I will tell you the plan later, first you need to know why should you marry as Neil. One- her mental health, two- for the fetus and also we can't let Brother Neil's child be a bastard or an illegimate child, third- you have promised to brother and godfather to take care of her and lastly- you are only qualified enough to protect her from conspiracy in Grasal. There is more that you understand about yourself as she can't be vulnerable at this point. You need an identity to deal with Grasal so it the most suitable for you." Shikar spoke out his thought.

"I understand. Go on, I am all ears." Arik continued to sip alcohol.

"We won't prepare a wedding ceremony but only sign the certificate. We have to be careful enough to not let her know you aren't Neil. Be as her guardian and not a husband. In that way you can take care of her while assure the position godfather want.

Mega will in fact marry Brother Neil as her husband, you will only be a show case. I have said to her that you have lost memory for a few years so it includes the time when Neil met her. Maintain a distance but let others think she is your wife… " Shikhar told his plan in detail.

"Brother Neil will be her husband and I only have to take care of her…humm…lemme think. Your proposal is good but I want to analyze the situation clearly." Arik nodded his head.

"Don't take more time and make a decision as soon as possible."

Arik knocked on Mega's ward as he wanted to be sure of few things. Mega was closing her eyes but hearing a sound of footsteps approaching, her eyes opened with expectation and happiness but seeing an unfamiliar face, she seemed to be wary and somber.

"Hello, maybe you haven't noticed me in the Ridi City as I was also one of your rescuer…Anyway let me introduce myself. I'm Arik." Arik tried his best to sound gentle.

"He..llo…hello…What do you want from me?" Mega was still uncomforted with the situation.

"I wanted some answer from you but I am conflicted to ask you or not. I don't want your situation to fluctuate…" Arik didn't directly question.

"Is it necessary to question now?" Mega replied in a low voice.

"Yeah. But promise me that you won't overthink or be over emotional."

"I will try."

"I haven't finished my introduction; I am brother of the doctor who treated you and also of Brother Neil—"

"You are brother of Neil??" Mega hurriedly question.

"Yeah. You were expecting for his arrival, wasn't you?" Arik wanted to know her process of thought. Arik changed his personality to a gentleman.

"Umm…but why isn't he here? Does he think I am a nuisance like my parents? Is he unhappy I am here…" Mega began to mumble. Shikhar had told her that she was in Grasal.

"Hey Mega, I have said before for you to not overthink. It's nothing like that. I want to discuss about some thing before you meet him."

"What do you want to discuss?" Mega replied in a meek voice. She seemed to be unconfident in herself.

"Brother Shikhar may have already told you but still I will say you something…The accident of Neil a few days ago was truth—" Arik hadn't finished his words when Mega cut him.

"WHAT??" Her face was turning pale.

"Ms. Mega, remember you are pregnant so be careful of your situation." Arik was trying his best to deal patiently.

"Are…are you trying to abort my child? Neil will never let his child to suffer…what do you want." Shikar was saying the truth, her situation wasn't good. She began to lose her mind.

"No- no, you have mistaken. Actually Brother Neil is alive and has sent me here to have some conversation with you before me meets you." Arik crossed his finger when he was lying.

"Neil…Neil is…alive?" Mega opened her eyes wide.

"I never said said he was dead but there is a small problem. He will surely be responsible to you and the child but still you need to know something." Arik was moving towards the main point.

"What is it?" Mega was back to normal hearing Neil being alive.

"Due to accident, it has made major impact on his brain and he has Dissociative Amnesia…that means he have forgotten two to three recent years. He doesn't have any memory of you and anything that has happened in this two years—" Shikar was the one who came with the memory loss excuse.

"What? He doesn't remember me? How long will it take him to remember?" Mega asked looking in the eyes of Arik.

"It's not sure when he will gain the memory. It maybe a year or more but don't panic; he wants to take responsibility of you and the child. Brother wants to know your thought." Arik messaged his temple.

"When...when he doesn't have memory, how and why will he take the responsibility?" Mega began to sob slightly.

"He will marry you, take care of the child and make you his wife but the main problem is that he may not love you or be close to you as you want. Personally you both will have a distance in relationship, he will try his best to fulfill his responsibility. Will you, Ms. Mega want to marry Brother Neil in such condition?" Arik very much wanted to know the answer.
