Daphne balled her fists, but she managed to maintain her smile. She was not going to make this girl get the better of her. It would only make her the lower of a person.
"You once told me to 'stop trying to guess at what you wanted' and that 'you abide by His Majesty because you respect him.'" Daphne's voice was calm and controlled as she looked straight into Devanka's eyes. Unlike before, she didn't look down at the other girl but instead as a somewhat equal. "Can you really guarantee that you know what His Majesty wants and not that you're projecting your own beliefs onto him?"
Devanka spun around, her eyes wide as if she didn't expect for Daphne to say anything along those lines.
