He was not fully confident that Emilian and Lady Zheng could stop the plans that Lord Shizi had laid in place. Anyone caught inside of the city when the rebel army attacked was likely to be massacred. Lord Shizi had ensured Pang Xi that his mansion and his warehouses and his men would not be touched, but sooner or later Pang Xi knew his duplicity would be discovered.
He was not overly concerned about the contents of his warehouses. The financial loss was nothing, things could be replaced, and there were other warehouses in other cities. What was most important was to preserve life, and his concern had turned to one life in particular.
