Chapter Forty-Four: The Third Prince's Military Strategy

Lord Shizi lounged a the table at the Tian Delicacies Restaurant.  He waived away the waiter that came with tea and ordered warm wine instead.  Gazing out through the sheer curtains at the fountain, he remembered the scene last time, when the young woman had fallen in the muddy lotus pool.  The woman was unremarkable, but the sight of her rescuer had made his blood run cold.  It was the first time he had seen Bai Long in person in more than fifteen years.

It was not a welcome sight.

General Su entered the private room and took a seat across from him.  The waiter came in shortly after and placed the porcelain pitcher of warm alcohol on the table, along with the small stemmed cups.  Lord Shizi ordered food and then turned to welcome his guest.  "General Su! Welcome."
