Elijah kept mute throughout the brutal interrogation session. What was he to say to elope this predicament? Every reasonable analogy pointed to him as the killer. For starters, the victims were seen boarding his cab before their deaths and since he was captured, the killings had stopped.

To make matters worse, the Police uncovered that his cab had been reported missing in Oakwood after the real driver was found dead with similar bite marks on his neck.

After spending two days in the Police cell, Mr. Louis ordered for Elijah to be presented before court for trial for murder and other charges. Per the directives of the constitution, Elijah was given free legal aid to defend himself in court.
