This was the first time Li Qing had seen the mysterious garden he had longed for countless times.
But he only got a glance before Han Mei covered his eyes with her hand tightly.
He hadn't seen clearly before, and now he still hadn't seen clearly.
"You go down," Han Mei suddenly snapped.
Li Qing looked at Han Mei, his face filled with astonishment.
It seemed that his sister-in-law was really angry.
"Sister-in-law, I..."
Like a bucket of cold water poured over him, Li Qing's passion cooled in an instant.
He stared blankly at Han Mei, momentarily at a loss for what to do.
"Go down!" There were tears in Han Mei's eyes as she said coldly and sharply.
"Okay, okay, I'll go down, don't be angry, sister-in-law," Li Qing hurriedly said.
Seeing Han Mei's change of face, he didn't dare to forcefully push any further.
Han Mei quickly tidied up her clothes, her eyes showing an unmistakable complexity as she said, "Why won't you listen to me? It's not that I really don't want to give it to you; it's that I can't give it to you."
"But sister-in-law, I... I'm sure it'll be fine," Li Qing said.
Han Mei shook her head, "You are inexperienced, too much stimulation all at once can only lead to trouble. If you don't listen to me, don't ever come into my house again."
These words truly panicked Li Qing. He quickly said, "Don't be angry, sister-in-law, I'll listen to you, I'll listen to everything you say."
Seeing Li Qing flustered and helpless, Han Mei's heart softened suddenly.
She gently touched Li Qing's cheek and said, "Your sister-in-law isn't heartless, but I can't ruin you."
"I'm sorry, sister-in-law..." Li Qing said dejectedly, hanging his head.
The dejected way he looked made Han Mei feel as if her heart was being pricked with needles.
And how could she not desire it?
But no one knew her own body better than she did.
"I can help you with my hand, but messing with your sister-in-law has to wait until later, is that okay?" Han Mei said softly, trying to soothe him.
A surge of intense hope suddenly rose in Li Qing's heart.
Although he and his sister-in-law hadn't broken through that final barrier, there had been a significant development that day.
Li Qing, despite his intense longing, was also aware of the concerns in Han Mei's heart.
After all, his brother had died on Han Mei's belly on their wedding night.
The impact of this event was tremendous; it was probably still a nightmare in his sister-in-law's heart.
Han Mei's slender and fair right hand slid down from Li Qing's cheek, resting on his chest, "Does it still feel uncomfortable? Let me help you with my hand as compensation, is that okay?"
Li Qing looked down and felt tempted, but his member seemed to have been frightened.
"When sister-in-law changed her face just now, it seems... it got scared away," Li Qing said helplessly.
Han Mei giggled, "I say you're timid, yet you were almost forceful with me just now. But when I got angry, you got so scared that you look like this."
Although she spoke in jest, Han Mei's heart felt as if it had tasted sweet preserves.
She knew that Li Qing's significant change was only because he cared for her.
He lacked courage because he cared.
Li Qing looked at Han Mei sheepishly and muttered, "It's just that the sister-in-law was too scary."
Han Mei smiled faintly and cast a sidelong glance at Li Qing, "You never act decently, do you?"
"Speaking of which, why did you come here? Did you specifically come to peek at me?"
Li Qing, failing to persuade his sister-in-law to help with his hands and seeing no movement for a while, decided to let go of the idea, saying, "Don't wrong me, sister-in-law, I've always watched openly, when have I ever peeked?"
"I haven't had much work in the fields these past few days, so I thought I'd come by this afternoon to help you pick Huang Xing while they're still green, otherwise, who knows how long you'd be toiling away by yourself."
Han Mei drew out the last word with a lingering tone, "The only apricots we're looking to purchase are Da Huang apricots. Ordinary Huang Xing apricots aren't urgent; we'll wait until they're fully ripe and then harvest the kernels."
"Oh," Li Qing immediately felt disappointed again.
Since there was no rush to collect the Huang Xing apricots, he had lost yet another opportunity to be alone with his sister-in-law.
Han Mei noticed the resentment in Li Qing's eyes and asked with a light laugh, "What's wrong? You look like a woman confined to her boudoir."
"Sister-in-law won't let me touch them. I was hoping to spend more time with you, but there just hasn't been a chance," Li Qing blurted out the frustration that had been building up inside him.
Han Mei was taken aback. "This afternoon, I plan to wash some bedsheets, quilts, and clothes. Can you help me fetch some water?"
Li Qing's face lit up with joy. "Sister-in-law isn't worried about people gossiping anymore?"
"I pulled a muscle in my waist a few days ago, many people in the village know about it," Han Mei said with a smile.
"Sister-in-law, I'll go fetch the water right now," Li Qing immediately replied.
Han Mei watched Li Qing, who seemed eager to put all his strength into his work, and her eyes were filled with a soft light.
Standing under the eaves for a moment, Han Mei gathered the bedsheets, quilts, and clothes that needed washing.
"Pour the water in first to soak them. I'm going to change my clothes. I got wet earlier," said Han Mei, giving Li Qing a side glance as she swayed her willowy waist and headed to the bedroom.
Stirred by Han Mei's words, Li Qing became restless once more, and the young fellow below, which had been quiet for a while, began to rise proudly.
He had just shifted his footsteps, intending to sneak a peek.
But suddenly, he heard the sound of a door being fastened.
Li Qing was startled. When he looked again, his sister-in-law was by the window, smiling and raising an eyebrow, even drawing the curtains.
She was guarding against him!
Realizing there was no opportunity, Li Qing could only turn to pour the water into two big basins, add some detergent, and submerge the sheets and quilts for a soak.
Before long, Han Mei came out in a change of clothes.
Her upper body was clad tightly in a short-sleeved shirt with a smiley face on it.
The two somewhat comical eyes on the shirt just happened to coincide with the fullness of Han Mei's chest.
Perhaps they even aligned with the pink, slightly indented little grapes on Han Mei's chest.
Her lower body was covered in a pair of washed-out jeans that tightly hugged her elastic buttocks, making them appear even more pert.
"Go fetch another two buckets of water," Han Mei said, squatting next to the basin.
"Oh," Li Qing, with a somewhat blank gaze, quickly agreed.
Although Han Mei looked good in a skirt, he still thought she was most beautiful in jeans like these.
With that thought, Li Qing fetched the water with nimble movements.
When he placed the water buckets down, he looked over at Han Mei, who was washing clothes, and his gaze suddenly went blank.
Han Mei's chest might not have been as voluptuous as Yang Xuelan's, but it was by no means small.
As she squatted down, the deep cleavage and the two white mounds were exposed right in front of Li Qing.
"Come, help me wring this out," Han Mei suddenly said.
She had finished washing the first bedsheet and needed help wringing it out to wash it a second time.
But Li Qing was too mesmerized to listen.
Han Mei followed Li Qing's gaze and immediately realized what was happening as she looked down.
Twisting her slender waist, she walked over and tapped Li Qing's forehead lightly, "You little heartbreaker, what are you thinking about?"
"Thinking about sister-in-law..." said Li Qing. Then as if possessed, he grabbed Han Mei's hand and pressed it against his erected tent.
Feeling the unusually scorching heat, Han Mei exclaimed in surprise.
"It's alive again? You want me to help you?"
Looking at his sister-in-law's suggestive eyes, Li Qing's reaction grew even stronger and he nodded emphatically.
Blushing, with a flush spreading to her ears, Han Mei glanced at Li Qing seductively, "Let's go inside."
