Nightfall-Part three

"AH~ We're finally back." Sebastian went back to his room and lied on his back on the soft mattress. Mark was also in the room and they each got their serving of blood that was given to them after they arrived at the mansion. Mark was flipping through books to see which sparked his interest. He sighed and lied on the bed with Sebastian. They were all silent for a minute.

"Sebastian, do you think that human girl will be alright?" Mark asked. Sebastian opened his eyes and looked at the ceiling, "I hope she is alright. Lord Asmodeus is in her room now. But, that scene was too much for her to handle. Her parents were all killed." Sebastian sighed again. Celeste hasn't woken up yet.

Lord Asmodeus looked at the tiny human girl and gently covered her with a blanket. Celeste was sleeping deeply and was clutching her teddy bear very tightly.

"Mommy, daddy..." Celeste clutched her teddy bear while her tears flowed down. Lord Asmodeus wiped away her tears and gently patted her to sleep. He sighed after awhile and got up. He left her room and asked a human maid to look after her.

"Emma, I'm going to assign you with Celeste. Her parents got killed by vampires, I don't want her to be scared." Emma nodded. Emma is in her early twenties, she was quite young to be a maid but she really liked her work at the mansion since it does pay well.

"My Lord, I'll take care of her as my little sister." He nodded and left. Emma's little sister was killed by the half-vampire before and she's the only survivor. With no money or job, she was homeless for a while until Lord Asmodeus spotted her one day in the forest. He was nice enough to provide a roof for her and it was a luxury for her. She wanted to spend her time here by working hard and serving the Lord. She knew not all vampires were evil.

As Celeste woke up from her deep sleep, Emma came in after knocking on the door.

"Hello, Celeste. I'm Emma. Don't worry, I'm not a vampire. I'm the same as you." Emma helped Celeste putting on her clothes. Celeste looked less worried and it made her smile.

"How old are you?" Emma asked.

"Seven." Celeste replied while looking down and clutching on the blanket.

"Celeste, why don't I take you downstairs and you can eat whatever you like?" Suddenly, Celeste's stomach growled. She hasn't eaten anything since. Celeste nodded and Emma carefully led her to the dining room. While walking to the dining hall, Sebastian spotted them.

"Hiya~ Who's this beautiful lady?" Sebastian waved hi to Celeste. She nodded but hid behind Emma.

"Sebastian, stop flirting with her." Mark came in behind, "You're coming with me. Unfortunately the Council wanted us to attend the meeting." Mark dragged Sebastian and Emma giggled.

"Come on, Celeste. Let's go eat." Emma led her to the main dining room. In the mansion, there are two main dining room. One is for humans and the other are for vampires. Emma led Celeste to the second dining hall which was with all of the vampire hunters and other humans that lives there.

When Celeste entered, everyone looked at her. Some were pity, some were sympathy. Christa got up the chair and led Celeste to an empty chair. Her food was already prepared.

"Celeste, my name is Christa. Do you like any of these food?" Celeste nodded and pointed at the strawberry tart. Christa smiled and got two of them for her. Celeste took her time and ate the food that was in front of her. The food was good and it filled her stomach. While clutching onto the teddy bear, she looked at other people talking among themselves.

After a while, she went to Christa who was still eating. Christa looked at Celeste and smiled. Celeste was quiet at first but she quickly opened up. Celeste tugged on to Christa, "Your hair clip." Christa saw her hair clip and immediately thanked Celeste. Christa gently touched Celeste's hair and told her to go back to her seat. Celeste nodded but went to Emma instead.

Celeste tugged onto Emma, "Can I see mommy and daddy?" Emma looked at her and excused herself from the dining room.

"Celeste, later let's ask Lord Asmodeus if you can visit your mother and father, okay?" Celeste nodded. Emma smiled because Celeste reminded of her own introverted sister. After few hours, Celeste went back to her room and sat on the bed when a knock was heard.

"Celeste? Can I come in?" Celeste nodded as Lord Asmodeus came and sat beside her.

"Do you want to visit your mommy and daddy?" Celeste nodded. Lord Asmodeus called Sebastian who was waiting at the door, "Get the carriage ready." Sebastian bowed and quickly went outside. Lord Asmodeus led Celeste at the entrance and helped her getting onto the carriage.

After several minutes, they've arrived at the cemetery. Emma took Celeste to see her father and mother. Celeste bend down and placed some wildflowers in front of the tombstone. After few minutes, she started to say something.

"Mommy, daddy. I miss you. Don't worry about me. I will live and make you and daddy happy. Please rest peacefully." Celeste stood up and went to Emma who had tears in her eyes. Celeste tugged onto Emma and she smiled, "Should we go?" Celeste nodded. On the way down, Lord Asmodeus and Sebastian were spotted waiting by the carriage. Celeste spotted Lord Asmodeus and walked towards him. She knelt down and lowered her head.

"Lord Asmodeus. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for letting me visit my mommy and daddy." Sebastian looked at him and smiled, "My Lord, good luck." He patted on Asmodeus shoulder.

"Celeste, please stand up. You are still young, you don't need to do this. Okay?" Celeste nodded and clutched onto her teddy bear. Sebastian was enjoying every bit of it. After a while, he whistled, "Well, I cannot wait until Celeste grows up. You're going to have a tough time when every guy will fall head over heels for her." Asmodeus looked at Sebastian and smirked, "I guess you don't want your job anymore." Sebastian stopped and zipped his mouth.

What a guy, he thought. Sebastian sighed as he got onto the carriage.
