Faint

Hands shook as she approached the iron cage on the table; Syrena's eyes fell on Prince Agenor.

[Is that guy seriously going to eat these rats alive? Oh no! These animals are so disgusting!]

Syrena opened the cage hesitantly. She screamed as the rat's snout nuzzled her hand.

"Oh!" cried Syrena.

"I can't! Just ask the waiter to serve you to eat!" said Syrena without thought.

"You're contradicting me again?" Agenor said coldly.

Syrena's gaze returned to the group of mice in the cage. The fear spread throughout the body, causing the hair on the neck to stand up.

[Will he punish me again? My back wound hasn't dried yet!]

Princess Ruxenia's mind screamed while tears started to fill her eyes.

Again ventured to open the lid of the cage at the top. When Syrena's hand tried to grab the rat's body, what happened instead was the rats running from the cage. Several rats climbed into Syrena's hands, causing the princess to scream and spontaneously hit the rat.

As Syrena screamed in terror, one of Prince Agenor's hands caught the rat and then partially stuffed it into his mouth.

"Aaaaaaaaaa!" cried Syrena as she watched her husband chew the rat's body. Drops of blood splattered around the prince's mouth.

Syrena's stomach seemed to churn, causing the princess to hold her mouth in reflex. Meanwhile, Agenor sat quietly, enjoying the dinner the maid had prepared.

The sound of chewed and squealed mice instantly terrorized Princess Ruxenia. This time the turmoil in Syrena's stomach became unbearable. The food from the princess's stomach returned after a while, filling the stomach cavity.

"I asked you to feed me, not to get rid of my appetite!" Agenor sneered.

Two maids immediately came to clean up the princess's vomit. Her body felt weak. Syrena was leaning back without strength. The brunette princess never thought that she would see Prince Agenor eat a mouse alive with her own eyes.

[You're crazy, Syrena! Now, your husband is a natural predator! He may eat you later!]

"Come here!" the black-winged prince ordered.

[Is he going to eat me now?] Syrena doesn't move.

"Are you stupid or deaf? Why do I always have to repeat my request?"

Syrena was leaning over to the golden-eyed prince with a trembling body, making them stare at each other.

"Clean my mouth and hands!" Agenor orders calmly.

Syrena's hand wiped Prince Agenor's thin lips. The distance was close enough for to Syrena look more intensely at the golden-eyed prince's face.

[This is the first time I see golden eyes; how beautiful. Too bad Agenor is a terrible man.]

After cleaning Prince Agenor's mouth, Syrena's hand wiped the prince's fingers.

[His hands are warm. Was he always this warm? Ah, the size of his hands is big too. No wonder with one hand he nearly killed me.]

"You feel disgusting with me?" Agenor said, causing Syrena to lift her face suddenly.

"Ah ... yes ... Honestly, I'm very disgusting to see you eat live rats," replied Syrena, taking a deep breath.

"At first, I also felt the same way. However, the beast's soul seemed to dominate my reasoning." Agenor's hand pointed at the head.

"Do you know what's interesting about eating mice?" asked the black-winged prince with a flat face.

"I don't know," said Syrena immediately.

"Its blood gives freshness. Every time I eat an animal, my brain always adds to the curiosity of how to taste the other's blood." Agenor was leaning back and folded his arms across his chest.

"Are you satisfied after bewitching me?" The golden-eyed man's gaze was like a beast ready to pounce, making the princess want to leave the dining room immediately.

"What do you mean?" Syrena said nervously.

"Don't pretend to be stupid! You're bewitching me on purpose. Now tell me how to get me back to my original body!" Agenor said emphatically, his brown brows dipping sharply with veins popping at the temples.

"I don't know!" Syrena answered as she got up from the chair.

"Don't lie!" Agenor's hand was grabbing Princess Ruxenia's wrist before she could escape from the dining room.

"Let me go!" Syrena screamed and struggled.

"Tell me, or I'll suck your blood!" Agenor was threatening to make Syrena's face even paler.

"Suck my blood till I die! So I don't have to suffer like this!" said Syrena.

[Ah... Syrena, what are you saying! You're going to make the guy even angrier! Why can't you whine and worship his feet to make peace!]

Even though she was scared, it was complicated for Syrena to lower herself in front of the pearl-white-haired man gripping her.

"Are you not afraid to die? Or are you just a big-mouthed princess!" said Agenor, tightening his grip.

"Your body feels so cold, Syrena. I think your blood has frozen in there." A hideous grin looked at Agenor's lips after licking his own.

Syrena glanced around the table. One hand grabbed the knife on the dining table and plunged it into Prince Agenor's chest. The prince's hand swiftly grabbed the wrist of the woman he had reportedly been married to for more than a week.

"Can't you be more elegant in acting? Do you think you can kill me with just a knife?"

The clanged of a knife hit the black marble floor, and a woman's scream echoed through the silent dining room. Agenor twisted Syrena's arm with just one move until the knife fell.

Grimaced in pain, the princess was still struggling. But, Agenor gripped tightly like a bear finding prey.

The disproportionate force pushed Syrena's half body hit the dining table's surface. From above Syrena's body, the golden-eyed prince stared slyly.

"What did the mage promise you if you can to kill me?" Prince Agenor continued the interrogation.

She was intimidated; Syrena closed her eyes. The atmosphere had already messed up. Even if Syrena told the truth, the prince who looked so desperate to kill wouldn't believe her.

"Open your eyes!" Agenor ordered. Syrena's Gray eyes opened again immediately.

"Answer me! So you chose to betray your family and the peace treaty?"

"I didn't mean to be treacherous!" replied Syrena.

"Your sweet mouth! You want to kill me! You prefer to die more than being my wife! Has your loyalty been pawned?"

Syrena's heart skipped a beat as if she were running from being chased by a wolf. No, the man's aura was even more terrifying.

"I ...." Syrena said, cut off.

"Stay cool! If you prefer to die than be my wife, I'd be happy to make it happen!"

Agenor's hand grabbed the dagger tied to his right thigh. The shiny tip of the blade seemed to be rising in the air. Unable to contain the horror, Syrena closed her eyes again, preparing to die.

[Anyone, please help me!]

The princess's body seemed to freeze with fear. Suddenly Agenor's body fell on Syrena's body. The woman on the table was immediately screaming along with the sound of a dagger falling on the table.

Syrena's eyes opened wide as she tried to support the winged body lying on her. The incident caught the attention of the waiters in the dining room.

[What happened? Did he faint?]

Groaning while pushing Agenor's body, Syrena struggled to get rid of the body that seemed to make her sink to the bottom of the earth.

Unexpectedly, that muscular body felt very heavy.

There was a loud banging sound because the prince's body hit the chair and fell to the floor.

[What happened?]

The maids screamed while holding their mouths and saw their master's bodies thrown by a woman. The eyes of the maids were fearful when they saw Syrena. Perhaps they immediately agreed to the wingman's accusation of Syrena's involvement with the witches.

A man dressed in all black entered the dining room in a hurry. The man in black stepped towards his master, who was lying on the floor.

"What's wrong, Your Majesty?" Flynt asked without turning to Syrena. The man's hand checked the pulse on the prince's neck.

"I do not know. Prince Agenor will kill me with that knife while half of my body is on the table." Syrena stared at the dagger with the eagle's head lying on the table.

"However, before he was stabling a knife at me, he was unconscious," explained Syrena.

Syrena also didn't know what had happened because her eyes were closed. As for Flynt, he didn't believe Syrena's words.

Rather than respond to Syrena's nonsense-sounding remark, the black-haired man brought Prince Agenor to his room with the help of another soldier.

Ah, yes, he's not what he seems; the prince's body feels heavy, especially with a pair of black wings attached to the back. Of course, that only added to the burden on Agenor's body.

Out of curiosity, Syrena followed Flynt to her husband's room. A room neatly arranged with eagle ornaments and flowers adorned the edge of the room's roof—quality wood furniture such as sideboards, cabinets, tables, and beds decorated with ornaments.

Syrena's gaze fell on the white-haired prince, who looked helpless on the bed.

"Does the prince often faint?" Syrena asked Flynt.

The bodyguard's expression looked unfriendly.

"Don't pretend you care about him, Your Majesty." Flynt ignored Syrena's question.

[I don't care about him, but just curious.]
