THE GUY WHO KILLED MY BOYFRIEND

CHAPTER TEN

Dayne Jamila's POV

--- The next day ---

Before we proceed to our class, I and Dylan made some quick review. We have a quiz later in our Math class.

This time, I may say that little by little, I was able to understand the lessons I didn't know before. I am thankful anyway to Dylan because he pays attention in helping me to understand all of these things.

We entered our classroom together, all of our classmates are paying attention to us. I just ignore them.

I sat beside Chelsea.

"So how was the review? Let me copy your answer later, okay?" Then she laughed. Yes, I know... She's just trying to tease me.

"Oh by the way Jamila! Let's have a deal! If your score in the exam is higher than thirty points, we will be having a pajama party at my place."

"My brother will not let me join. Just forget about it, Chelsea."

"Leave it to me. Just score higher than thirty, okay? You've been scoring five points two consecutive times. Are you not embarrassed?"

"Look who's talking! We are just having the same score!"

Then Chelsea laughed again. I rolled my eyes. Psh. She's crazy.

A few moments later, our Math teacher entered the room. Our exam finally began. In all fairness, there's a huge difference between the questions I am encountering right now. Somewhat, I know the answers to these. Good thing, I listened to Dylan.

The much-awaited moment for Chelsea is to know my score. She is excited about the sleepover she has in mind.

Dylan got a perfect score, fifty points over fifty items. No wonder he's a genius. He's the highest in the class, while I, being the second. To my surprise, I got a score of forty-nine, with only one mistake. Is it me?

Chelsea is now celebrating. Psh. Chelsea, what is it again?

After the class, she went to our house and talked to my brothers. To my surprise, they just agreed to Chelsea. Like, seriously? I think you guys are all overprotective, then why said yes to Chelsea?

I just sighed.

CJ fetched me to Chelsea's house around nine in the evening. It is my first time not sleeping in our own house. Thanks to her, thanks to my brothers -_-

Roxette was already there when I arrived. I thought, it is just the three of us but there are other visitors aside from us. Chelsea said it is her cousin.

The party just began. Chelsea prepared a lot of food. We watched some movies.

At around eleven in the evening, we played a game. Whoever loses will face punishment.

Unfortunately, I was the one who loose.

Chelsea dares me to stay in the vacant room on the second floor of their house. I was very hesitant to do it since I am not brave enough.

I might see something like a ghost or whatever.

I told them to replace the punishment but they didn't want to.

So this is it, I have to stay in the vacant room until morning.

Time check, it is about midnight.

Chelsea and Rox accompany me to the vacant room. Upon opening the room, we witnessed nothing but darkness.

This time, I have to be brave!

"Hey, is there a light inside?" I asked Chelsea.

"Of course! Just search for the switch."

They pushed me inside then left.

I heard they just locked the door.

Oh gosh! I immediately switched on the flashlight of my phone and searched for the switch of the light.

I almost shout upon opening the light.

I saw Dylan, half-naked. Looks like he just finished showering.

"W-what are you doing here Jamila?" He immediately grabbed his shirt and put it on.

"What are you doing here Dylan?"

We both asked in chorus.

"I have to ask you first Jamila, what are you doing here?"

"It's a punishment made by Chelsea."

"So, you are here all along? When did you come?"

"Around nine in the evening, I guess."

"You came here for?"

"Sleepover, pajama party. Wait! Why are you asking me a lot of things?"

"Psh. You may now get out."

I rolled my eyes.

"They locked me here."

Dylan did a facepalm. What is he doing here anyway?

Honestly, I feel sleepy, but I don't know where to sleep. Or can I be able to sleep here? In a situation like this?

I yawned, told you I am sleepy right?

"I am sleepy," I said to Dylan.

"And what do you want me to do?"

"Leave? Escape? I want to sleep. I should be sleeping right now."

Seems like he can't believe what he is hearing. But that's the truth!

Maybe this is part of a plan! Chelsea wants me and Dylan to stay in one room.

I walked closer to the bed then lie down.

"Wait! What are you doing?" Dylan asked.

"Told you I'm sleepy, right?"

"But! Hey! Don't sleep here!"

"Where should I sleep?"

"Couch?"

"You better sleep there. You are the guy between us, right?"

I was about to close my eyes but suddenly I heard a rumble of thunder.

Wait! Is it raining outside?

I get all the pillows just to cover my ears but I still hear it. Yes, I am afraid of the sound of thunder since I was a kid.

After just a few more seconds, the light turned off. We don't have any source of electricity. Or is it just here in our room? Not sure.

I was even more scared but I don't want to show it to Dylan.

I covered myself with the blanket and tried to close my eyes. I tried thinking about happy thoughts.

I felt some weight beside me. Dylan sat beside me.

"Are you okay, Jamila?" he asked.

"I'm scared," I confessed.

Moments later, I just felt his arms around me. Dylan is embracing me.

There's a sudden rush in my being that I am feeling right now.

"Try to sleep. I will be here. I will guard you."

I bit my lower lip. Dyyyyyyyyyyyyyllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!

What are you doing to me?!?!

The sound of the thunder is becoming louder and louder.

Dylan put his earphone in my ear then played a song.

Somewhat, my attention is now focused on the song and not on the thunder.

Little did I realize, I just fell asleep as Dylan is still hugging me.
