Chapter 22

As Allen was laying Ariel in bed again, he heard the doorbell. He frowned in annoyance. He went down to answer the door and was met with two very sweaty Andrews and Asimuthia. "Why are you sweaty and what are you doing here at... "he paused to check the time. "...seven pm", he asked with an eyebrow cocked up.

They both looked extremely nervous. "Um, dude is...",Andrews gestured in the house"...she here? ", he asked. Allen nodded in confirmation. Asimuthia suddenly looked like she wanted to cry. "We tried our best", they both whispered to him sadly.

He was confused. Why were his employees and best friends acting like this. What he saw next chased away every ounce of friendship he felt towards his friends.

"Allen darling, you never told me you had another hideout", a saintly and dainty little voice said. He broke out into a cold sweat. His mother was here.

"How many places do you want to keep hiding away from me, your own mother", she said in a stern voice. "Several mom, as long as you keep asking me to marry", he said. His mother sighed. "I don't need you to marry anymore, Andrews told me that that Ariel powers girl is around on Neptune", she said with a small smile.

Allen played dumb. "Who?", he asked. "You know, Ariel Powers, the one that you always save, your soulmate", she replied happily. Allen gave a small chilling smile that didn't intimidate his mother one bit. It was understandable though, the smile wasn't meant for her. It signifies what he would do to Andrews when he got himself out of the pit Andrews dug for him.

"I returned her because she seems to be happily in love with her boyfriend", he lied through his teeth. After all, his mother couldn't possibly start a search to look for her in his house. His mother looked downcast. She gave him an aggrieved look.

"My own son doesn't want me to become a grand mother, how can you do that, that's not how you win a girl over", she said. Allen found a way to pacify her.

He felt really happy with himself. His mother would soon leave him alone and then he could have his life all to himself.

She had already started leaving when she remembered something. "Oh Allen, your father said I should tell you that he has new leads on Chad Greene", she said.

Allen nodded thankfully to his mother and was about to see her off when Ariel came walking down the stairs. She looked tiny and vulnerable in his clothes despite her height and she yawned softly. She looked at Asimuthia and smiled while for some strange reason, Andrews quickly smoothed his hair.

There was a beautiful woman in the living room with azure blue eyes. The moment Ariel greeted her, she blinded Ariel with her smile. She ran away from the door and to Ariel. "Oh my darling, my blockhead son never told me that his girlfriend was as beautiful as this. Ohhhh my heart wants to burst at the thought of what your grandkids would look like", she said and laughed off before anyone could deny anything.

Allen stood in the same position and looked at Andrews.
