the beginning of the end
In the village of Hage, Clover kingdom.
Sister Lilly was watering the plants with her water magic when she heard crying in the distance.
"Hmm?" Sister lily poked her head from the sight they grew nomatoes and walked towards the crying sound, which was near the skull of the beast the first wizard king slew.
hearing the crying intensify, she walked into the bushes, to see a child and an incsopicous book
the child was butt naked, near all the nettles that could hurt the baby if he wasn't careful
Running up to him and cradling the baby, she sighed
"3 abandoned today." She muttered, using her finger to play with the young baby. picking up the book and looking towards it, she thought "His parent must have left it with him."
all abandoned children's parents have a story, so after a quick prayer to the gods about them, she covered up the baby with some cloth and walked back to the old orphanage church they use to teach the orphanage kids morales and the law, and raise them with love the best they can.
although the church doesn't worship a god, they believe that hope is something that makes the world stable and great. a grimoire without hope is nothing other than a book with spells and no passion, no meaning.
knocking on the church door, Father Orsi opened the door, only to see a bundled child and sister lily
"Another one." He sighed, picking the child up and examining him. "Later tonight, I will name the 3 boys we got today." he sighed, playing with the small child "Do you wish to join me?"
"No thank you, father Orsi." Sister Lilly was Apologetic. "Later tonight I need to help the Robinson family water their crops, as their soil isn't fertile enough and only my water magic can help them."
"I see" He sighed, before looking towards the trio. "We are going to have a big family one day, that's for sure."

looking towards the three baby boys, he sighed
"I pray, I pray that them and their family can reach greatness in life." Offering a small prayer to a statue of the first wizard king, he looked towards the trio
"One's spunky, and ones quiet." Father Orsi said, "Are they, siblings?"
looking at the difference in hair colour and demeanour, he laughed before saying
"Yeah, defiantly not siblings,"
turning his attention towards the last, he sighed, wondering where the boy came from. the duo next to him were dropped off at their doorstep, but this one was near the skull of the great magic demon. what kind of parent would abandon their child there?
offering a small prayer once again, he looked towards the silver one
"Your name will be As-" he said, getting kicked in the face by the small child, who was giggling at him
looking towards the first black-haired one, he said
"I'll guess I'll name you Yuno." The small child didn't move, sleeping peacefully.
looking towards the other black-haired kid, he realised something wrong with him
his ears were deformed, looking like humans ears but more pointed
"Poor child, this may be the reason he got abandoned."
although it wasn't that noticeable, some people may consider it a bad omen, since it looks like the ears belong to the elves, a demonic race known to have committed mass crimes.
sighing, he thought of a suitable name.
thinking about the ancient language used in the ancient clover kingdom, he thought about it.
"Zakai." He said, looking at the boy. it means to hope in the ancient language, something he hopes the boy will bring. the boy giggled hearing this, lifting his hand.
finally looking at the silver-haired boy in disgust, father Orsi looked at him and sighed.
"Your name will be Asta." the boy also giggled, flapping his arms and attempting to hit Orsi, but Orsi managed to dodge once more
"Don't try to fool me twice, young asta," He sighed, looking a the boy still attempting to kick him.
looking at both of them with a smile, he sighed
"We are going to be a happy family one day."

5 years later
"Im going to be the wizard king!" Asta recited for the 900th time, addicted with the phrase
Yuno looked at him like an idiot, before quietly saying " I Will be the wizard king."
Zakai looked at them both, sighing before walking off to help Sister lily farm Notatoes for their dinner.
walking towards the small farming land with his book, he put it down and walked towards Sister Lilly.
the book was weird, but he felt a connection to it. he couldn't open the book, no matter how much he tried. he once got a strongman in the village below to open it, but even he was unable to open it
"Sister Lilly, do you need any help?"
Sweat beaded down her body and she watered the plants with her water magic.
magic greatly interested Zakai, as he watched as she made and manipulated water. something special about sister Lilly water magic was that it contained holy water, which was extremely nutritious for things like plants and preparing food but was weak in combat situations.
"Help me get some herbs in the forest." She said, before looking at me "But do not go near the Skull, do you understand!"
"Yes, sister lily." He sighed, slowly walking into the lush forest,
stomping his foot and sighing, Zakai wondered to himself
"Why me?" he said, angry "Asta and yuno can go near the skull, but I can't."
sighing and thinking about it, Zakai came up with a conclusion
"Im going to go near the skull."
Picking up his book and treading cautiously to the Skull, he looked up to it
something in him wanted him to go, almost seducing him into thinking it was a good idea
although asta and yuno couldn't go past the skull, due to wild animals that may even hold a trace of magic, he wanted to prove to them that he can take care of himself. he is restricted, and he hates it. he's no worse than asta, and even behaves better than him!
slowly approaching the skull and placing his hand on it, something flooded into his mind. he didn't want to touch it in his head, but he was forced to watch it.

forcing the image out of his head, he curved over and puked just thinking about the scene.
stopping for a second, he continued travelling past the skull and into the lush forest where he was told not to go.
he just wanted to be treated the same as Asta and Yuno, that was all.
walking through the forest, the birds suddenly stopped tweaking
"Hm?"
looking around, he was unaware that a figure was stalking him, standing behind trees and staring at the unaware boy, gnashing its teeth
pouncing, it jumped towards the boy
hearing a woosh come from behind him, he looked towards the Wolf that was about to bite him
"What-" Zakai shouted, attempting to stop the wolf's bite by placing his book in front of him
the wolf speed increased, a light green making its faster
"Wind magic!" Zaka shouted trying to run away. a foolish attempt really. did he think that he was going to outrun a Magic boosted animal?
some say that the skull still radiates magical energy, mutating a small number of animals. however, even the weakest peasant could take them down along as they have combat basied magicalgrimoire.
The book didn't fall, as it levitated in the air, shooting at the wolf.
the book's speed was incredible, as it quickly placed itself in front of the wolf.
Zakai could have sworn, he could have sworn,
He heard laughing coming from the book.
the wolf suddenly started wimping, as the wind mana near it was absorbed into the book.
suddenly, the book fell, which caused Zakai to run and catch it.
touching and squeezing the book, he realised that he could open the book

the cryptic text was something that Zakai never saw before, but he could understand it.
the page described the wind magic in detail and even shown a carbon copy of the wolf he was fighting currently.
scrolling down the page, he watched as the wolf once more shot at him, a lot slower this time due to the lack of mana to fuel it.
as he got to the bottom, he saw a single spell. something that could save his life.
"[Wind blade of the Hermes wolf!]" Zakai shouted
once he shouted the comical name, he could feel something come out of his body as it shot to the wolf.
the wolf suddenly stopped, looking down to see its upper torso slowly fall off, pierced by a wind blade that cut straight through it.
Whimpering, it fell to the ground and died, blood sprouting from its wounds.
after casting the spell, Zakai could feel his whole body scream in pain as he lost consciousness.
a dead wolf and an unconscious boy could be seen in the forest, the boy holding an unconscious book

feeling that the boy lost consciousness, the book suddenly flaoted once more, looking towards the dead body of the wolf, it flew over and opened its pages frantically.
the book then stopped opening its pages frantically, creating suction to absorb the body of the dead wolf, before becoming still once more.
