Charing

Luke looked on quizzically, his mind once again drew blanks, he pushed his eyes closed and reopened them, the same text stood motionless, he went numb, for he did not know what to fear, he could not see, he could not see anything... to fear...

A breath of cold air escaped his mouth, he clung to a nearby rock and dragged himself upright sweat drew down in an arch on his forehead, his ears pierced as a loud ringing ensued, his clothes were slightly torn and he could not decipher the figures in the darkness, however he now knew what it was in this world that needed to be feared, absolute power.

Although the figures were shrouded in darkness, he knew who they were, the ones that accompanied him this whole way, John Casey, his friend and the three women, they stood like predators looking at him, smiles clung to their faces like a parasite.

out of the darkness a blame of flame was shot, it travelled at a high speed towards Luke, coming into contact with his left leg, Charing his thigh and sizzling his clothes to a shade of vantablack, he screamed as he tried to fall back to an opening, shots continued to be fired landing only metres away from him, he was scared shitless, these shots were not intended to land, they were intended to install fear.
