The Academy

as the tavern got louder, tables of people murmuring and shouting in the background, on a small table in the corner..

"Haha, looks like your girlfriend can't handle her drinks"

"seems like it" sighed Lotus

"what aree you guyss talk-in about, Lotussss I can ahendle more then you think hehe"

"ignore her, anyways what did you wanna talk about" Looking at her with a scolding look Lotus drew his attention back to the man in front waiting for his response

"ah yes! So as you already know my name is Judas and I am the combat specialist at the 'Desolania Academy' My job today was about scouting for new students hence the unmannerly behaviour"

"I see, makes sense!"

Lotus remembered the time when he was younger and the athletics scout did the same for him.

"so you think I'm a good fit for this academy" Lotus drew his hands from under the table and linked his fingers.

"yes, well actually not just you, you see I have a certain ability to feel people's power level and I have a sense the girl beside you is hiding a lot more power than meets the eye"

Judas looked at the now drowsy Ariel with an embarrassed expression

Lotus looked at her with the same embarrassment but with some more gratitude for her existence, since without her he wouldn't have been able to kill the dragon without drawing his last breath "Yeah she's stronger than she looks"

"Exactly, and my stance on your abilities need not be explained, you are one of the most capable individuals I've come across in hand-to-hand combat, I believe I would need to go all-out just to be able to go toe to toe with you haha"

"Nah you nearly had me a few times, was very fun indeed, I'm not fully used to these powers yet so I always enjoy the learning experience," Lotus said gripping his hand into a fist

"I meant to ask you questions in regards to that, the way you can slow down things around you is remarkable if I didn't boost my strength I wouldn't have been able to move"

"Ooo I'm glad you noticed, it was an idea I just came up with, to increase the value of the space around and thus increase the weight of the gravity around me, I don't know much about these abilities I was hoping you'd know more than me, Ariel is curious too I'm sure"

"hmm, there's still very little we know but to start with, we with abilities are what are known as mana practitioners or practitioner for short, mana is the energy that we take in, which give us abilities on all the universes affinities; Earth, wind, fire etc" but I haven't seen a gravity one"

"understood, you can't imagine my own surprise at everything that happened," Lotus said tiredly

Ariel peeped her head into the table dazedly "Lotus has had a crazyyy time, he killed a dragonnn hehe burp*"

Lotus gave Ariel a concerned look

"Haha, let us go to bed, too many jokes have been told tonight, Take care of Lotus we'll pick this up in the morning"
