Chapter 1Prologue

In a fairly large bedroom, a young teenager slowly woke up from his bed. Noticing the time on his phone it says it's 4:47 AM.

"I don't even need an alarm anymore to wake up at 5 AM."

Quincy said as he slowly reminisced the day he came to this world.

[Host has qualified and inherited the 'Super Athlete System'. Initializing...]

"W-what the hell is going on here?!!!" Quin hysterically yelled as he could not process what exactly is going on. And the voice he heard is spooking him a lot. That is when he slowly remembered what happened.

It was evening when he drove home from work and passed a tunnel he normally passes. But when he got to the end, a bright light hit him abruptly causing him to dodge to the side thinking he may get into a collision with another vehicle which he assumed was a large one due to the large degree of brightness it emitted. Quickly he controlled his car to go left but due to the high speed, it was a disaster as the car fell off the cliff.

Right now I'm in a dark space thinking about the voice he heard. "I don't know if I'm in heaven or in hell but this scene is so familiar to the isekai novels I've read. So I might still have a chance here." Quin said with fingers crossed.

"Okay, launch the 'whatever it is called' system" Quin slightly shouted believing the system might not have heard him.

[Host is reminded that it is called the 'Super Athlete System'.]

"Alright, launch it now."

"Hmmm... You sounded feminine so I'll choose a girl's name. Alright, from now on I will call you Lucy." Quin based the name on a Hollywood movie he had seen that ended in the heroine turning into a flashdrive.

[System complies. I, Lucy, will now explain to host the way the system works.]

However, there are no quests, inventory, skills, or lucky spins available. "But still, getting to compete with my favorite players is something I've always dreamed of." In his past life, he always watched the NBA and dreamed to be in one. Life just doesn't always go the way you want to. He realized it late and had success being a civil engineer. But now since a chance is in front of him, there's no turning back. He died single and never really got to meet his biological parents. He was an orphan for as far as he remembered and got adopted by an old couple who died 15 years after.

Its not very good to be honest. There are a lot of decisions made that don’t really make sense. Most of the character are uninteresting and have no depth, only being added because there can’t just be the MC around. Author seemingly can’t introduce a female character without mentioning in someway how attractive they are regardles of age. Its really weird. ( this might not be a knock to some of you, but it is to me) Author doesn’t really seem to understand American culture (not sure if they’re from here, if they are then thats even worse) but they have a basic graps which is ok I guess. Though they definitly don’t know how US high school works. The writing in clunky and a lot of the dialogue is way to formal. People are always talking as if they are in a business meeting. The grammar isn’t the best either, but not terrible. Really the only redeaming factor, for me, in this story is that the Author skipped his childhood and started when he was 14. But that also has come with its own problems. As its made all the charcters, even MC, hollow with no depth.

I like the book, but to be honest, I read until chapter 20 and it looks more like a documentation of mc’s life than a story about basketball. I mean, the interactions are greatly done but they are too few. I would rather you take your time, write a lot of fillers about his life to make us empathize more with the mc. At this point, I would not feel touched if something bad happened to him since except his basketball skills and basic information about his family, I don’t know nothing about him. It’s just a suggestion! I really like the concept of the novel though. Good luck with it!!!
