The Great Wall

Ren is an orphan who is trying to survive on his own in the city. He finally decides to try and join the Adventurer's guild to earn a bit more money but almost loses his life in the first quest. A mysterious person saves him, only to leave him to die at the city gates! Fair warning, this is a story about a guy who is surrounded by women who are taller and stronger than him. If you are looking for a story where the male lead takes charge and protects the women, this might not be the story for you.

Lost again

In the end I decided to lay down until sleep took me. When I woke up again, it was already morning. I hadn't heard any knocks on the door. Either I was too deeply asleep or Theresa hadn't come by yet.

I got off the bed and rang the bell. I waited for a minute but there was no knock on the door. I tried ringing the bell again but no one came even after 5 minutes. Maybe Theresa was asleep?

Not knowing what to do, I went to the door and started banging on it.

"Miss Theresa? Are you there? Is anyone there?"

After a bit more banging I finally heard some footsteps and the door opened. It wasn't Theresa but another woman who looked like a guild employee.

"Yes, what do you need"

"I need to go to the toilet"

The woman made a disgusted face at me and opened the door wider.

"Fine. Lets go."

The woman was small and delicate looking but when she grabbed my arm I realized she was not any weaker than Theresa. She dragged me to the toilet and told me to get inside with an annoyed face.

I closed the door behind me and did my business. When I came out, the woman was nowhere to be seen. I was surprised that she had left me here by myself. I thought they were worried about what I would do if left alone.

I looked around a bit for the woman but didn't find her. Since I couldn't think of anything better, I decided to return to my confinement room. I didn't want to get on the bad side of the guild. They might think I was trying to run if I went anywhere else.

As I started making my way back, I realized I was lost. The guild was a big place with corridors that looked the same. There were a lot of rooms like the one I was confined in. Maybe they were for adventurers to stay?

I saw a few people around but none of them were guild employees. They looked like they were adventurers that stayed in the guild. I didn't talk with them since I didn't really know what to ask them. "Hey, do you know where I was being confined? I want to return to that room.". That didn't seem like an option. Maybe I could have asked them where the guild exit was but then the guild might think I was trying to run.

So I did the worst thing I could do and just wandered around on my own. That is how I bumped into Theresa.
