The Great Wall

Ren is an orphan who is trying to survive on his own in the city. He finally decides to try and join the Adventurer's guild to earn a bit more money but almost loses his life in the first quest. A mysterious person saves him, only to leave him to die at the city gates! Fair warning, this is a story about a guy who is surrounded by women who are taller and stronger than him. If you are looking for a story where the male lead takes charge and protects the women, this might not be the story for you.

Double miracle

"Hello Miss Melaine. We are back. We want to register Turek and Cleo as adventurers"

Miss Melaine eyed me for a second and then shifted her gaze to Turek.

"Fill out this form. You take one as well." She told Cleo.

To my surprise both Turek and Cleo knew how to read as well as write. Both of them filled the forms and handed them back. Miss Melaine took out the semicircular identifying device and asked Turek to put his hand on it. The device started to glow red and shifted to green and eventually stopped glowing just like in my case.

Miss Melaine looked at the bottom and started writing down the information as she narrated it.

"According to the identifier, you are 21 years old. Your strength is 2, agility is 2 and magic value is …. 5. You have a moderate aptitude for magic and should consider training as a wizard."

We were all really surprised that Turek had an aptitude for magic. Magic users are supposed to be rare compared strength and agility users. So having a magician in the party of a really good thing.

"Nice job Turek!", I congratulated Turek.

"Err… thanks… but I didn't really do anything. I don't know any magic at all"

"It's all right Turek, we will find a way for you to learn magic. Don't worry!" said Cleo.

"Now it's your turn Cleo". While Turek was a nice surprise, the main event was still Cleo.

"Right, let's do this!"

"Please place your hand here."

Cleo placed her hand on the identifier. It started to glow red and continued to glow red for a few seconds. It then started to glow greener and eventually become completely green. It then abruptly stopped glowing. It was the same process again but it felt like it took longer than mine and Turek's process.

"Let's see what we have. You are 23 years 9 months old. Your strength is 15, your agility is 5 and your magic is 1. Your aptitude for strength based professions is high and moderate for agility based professions. You have no aptitude for magic."

So it was like that. No wonder she is so strong. While it was good that she was strong, she also didn't look like she was too strong. After all Vals strength level or even Janet's magic level was higher than Cleo. Janet wasn't even a strength user but her strength was the same as Cleo. Does this mean we can continue partying together. I wished Janet was here so we could ask her.

After thanking Miss Melaine and getting the guild IDs, we returned back to our table. "You are so strong Cleo! You have high aptitude for strength based professions too!" said Turek excitedly.

"And you can be a magician which is even more amazing. I have never even seen magic before!"

"I think we are really compatible with each other. Cleo has strength attribute, Turek has magic and I have Agility. Although Cleo has the same agility as me, it makes sense that she focuses on Strength as her primary attribute"

"Makes sense to me. So you think I can continue partying with you two? I thought you were saying…"

"I am not sure but I think it should be fine. The people who gave me this information were D rankers and there attribute values were much higher than yours Cleo."

"Really? Wow, they must be really strong then. Alright, it's settled then. We will continue partying together!"
