Memories of Daniel: The Coward

I went to sleep and now I'm in a nightmare

Daniel was running through a forest as fast as he could and was out of breath

"Huff, huff..."

Fear was controlling him, all he wanted was to escape from this place, his body was wounded by branches, but he did not care about these wounds and continued running

He didn't look back but I know what pushed Daniel into this situation

He was desperate to survive, and I felt tears in his eyes

Any normal person would lose his cool in such a situation

Daniel came to a small lake

And there were several hunters sitting there, and three horses tied to a tree, and a deer carcass beside them, and the hunters were eating while sitting on a tree trunk.

I could see guns and spears that were beside the horses

Daniel started running towards the hunters, and when the hunters noticed that someone was running towards them, they prepared and carried their weapons.

Daniel must warn them so that they run, the shadow is behind me, if these hunters don't run, they will die.

One of the Hunters stepped forward and shouted, "Is there a problem, sir…"

But Daniel didn't stop, He passed them and kept running

The hunters were amazed, but they didn't let their guard down. They were in a forest. They must have thought that a wild animal was running after Daniel.

Daniel bypass the hunters and they became behind him

Wait a minute, wait a minute, what are you doing? you must warn these Hunters, if you leave them , they will die

I tried to control this body but it was useless, I knew that these were just memories but I didn't want to leave them behind

No , No , No, please don't do that

Daniel entered the woods, and after a while I heard gunshots

"Ahhh..."

"Noooo..."

I heard the screams of the Hunters behind me, I was sure that the shadow had caught them, just thinking about it gave me goosebumps.

I still can't comprehend the situation, did this really happen?

I woke up from the nightmare panting

I stared at the ceiling in disbelief, not having the strength to lift my body

Did I really do that? Did i leave those innocent hunters as bait to buy time to escape?

Negative feelings began to dominate me again, the same thing happened when I heard the news of my family's death

But there was a new emotion she felt

I was so disgusted with myself, I can't believe I sacrificed these innocent people to save my life.

"That can't happen..."

I'm still struggling to comprehend it

I started trying to find an escape from these negative feelings

I tried to convince myself that it might just be a normal nightmare that had nothing to do with my memories

But that didn't work for me, these feelings didn't come out of nowhere

It was all true, I have to accept the fact that I did such a cowardly act

"I'm just a cowardly bastard..." I murmured while covering my eyes with my arm

But whenever I closed my eyes, I would hear the sound of gunshots, the screams of the hunters, and the sound of the birds that left their nests to escape from that monster.

I knew it was going to be a sleepless night

I haven't left my room for a long time, I don't know how long I've been lying in bed

But I didn't have the strength or desire to get out of bed after I had that dream

I wished to die in this place, but deep down I knew that this was just a lie

My desire to live was so strong that I sacrificed innocent people to escape from the shadows

I was just a coward, who abandoned his principles, his morals, and even his humanity in order to survive

I kept thinking about those Hunters for a long time, if the shadow can reach this island, will I run away and let the shadow kill everyone on this island

I didn't have the nerve to answer that question

If you ask an ordinary person such a question

He will answer that he will not abandon others

And if you ask me such a question before I find the orb and before the shadow starts chasing me

My answer would be that I will fight to protect the innocent

But morals and principles can crumble in the face of real danger and fear

When I was put in a situation where my life was in danger, I did not hesitate for a moment to sacrifice others

You can only know the truth about others when you put them in difficult situations

Because most human beings are nothing more than hypocrites, they use all the power and wealth in their hands in order to obtain benefits for themselves.

Some people are even willing to sacrifice their family in order to gain some power or authority

The Gracefield family excludes Elia and even his friends turn their backs on him when they find out that he has a talent that doesn't meet their standards.

They think Elia is inferior to them, so he doesn't deserve to be on the same level

I am a person who has nothing to do with this family and I have never met Elia, but hearing that there is a child who has been abandoned by others is sad and depressing for me.

I can't imagine what Elia felt, did he feel despair like me? Was he willing to do anything to reach his goal like I did?

I wanted to survive and he wanted to get recognition from others

This was a cruel world, and there was no such thing as justice
