The Unfortunate Night.

Under the bright and magical moonlight, a girl happily hums a song that she had known since childhood, a song sung to her by her mother when she was younger and ever since her parent's death, it had been her lullaby.

The light spreads on her fair and smooth skin and down her long raven black hair that reaches down below her waist, as she passes under the street lights. The moonlight keeps shining brighter on her making her look like a miniature petite goddess with her delicate features.

She happily skips till she reached the front of an old looking building, she then stops and walked to the front of the door while hugging a paper bag to her chest and then she opened the door,

"Grandma, I'm home and I brought your medicines", she entered and locks the door,

"Grandma, where are you?, I brought your favorite drink too", she giggled and headed into her grandma's room, she pushed the door open with a creak,

"Grandma? GRANDMA!!", the next thing she knew, her grandma was placed on a stretcher and pushed into an ambulance and she herself was accompanied into the ambulance to sit beside her.

The tears kept falling till she reached the hospital waiting room, she didn't sit and she saw the nurses and doctors running up and down, it was as if time had stopped and all she heard was sobbing which turn out to be her sobs and ringing in her right ear. Her hoodie was wet with tears and her leg gave way and she immediately pulled into a dark abyss.

"Beep Beep Beep...", she could her beeping sounds as her eyes fluttered opened and she immediately and repeatedly blinked as her eyes wasn't familiar with the bright light, then she sat up and rubbed her eyes to see that she was in a ward in the hospital, she realized something and bolted out of the ward and headed to where her grandma was, she was about to burst in when she was stopped by the doctor,

"Artemis! Wait!",

"Yes, Doctor Leonard, How's my Grandma", she approached him,

"I'm sorry, Artemis, I... we tried our best but we couldn't save her, I'm really sorry", he held her hands and she took a step back,

"No... No!, it can't be, b-but... sh...she...was alright, No!", she slumped down and covered her face while she cried bitterly.

Leonard squatted down and put his arms around her and consoled her while she cried even more on his shoulders with tears staining her beautiful small face.
