Until You Have Decided

The day came, as he and his two siblings were about to leave for Cloud Recesses. Now fifteen, with both Suibian and Chenqing at his side, it finally came to the point in his life where he would meet his old friend with whom he was close within both lives but killed him in his last. He begged and pleaded with Madam Yu and Uncle Jiang to not send him, threatening he would only cause trouble so he would be banished from Cloud Recesses for good, which Madam Yu returned with a threat with over twenty lashes from Zidian if he does so, which shut him right up.

On Suibian and Jiang Cheng on his sword carrying their sister, as she would be too weak to fly alone, they made their way up the mountain deciding to leave on the day they were going to enter the gates of Cloud Recesses, rather than a day before or worrying there might not be any room left to book for them in the Gusu Lan, well it was the excuse that Wei Wuxian gave them but it was so they wouldn't cause a fight with Jin Zixuan who was still Jiang Yanli finance in this life.

Making sure he had the invitation, so Jiang Yanli didn't lose it this time. Coming to the gates at the break of dawn, Wei Wuxian was the first to greet the Gusu Lan disciples which he kindly bows to them holding out their invitation. Taking it and looking over the invitation the Gusu Lan disciple declares it to be real and lets the Yanmeng Jiang Sect through the gate.

Coming in Wei Wuxian spots the wall of a thousand rules of Cloud Recesses on them still remembering every single one, and this time for his family's sake he will follow them. Coming to the main courtyard Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Yanli come to meet the first master of their generation and the future Gusu Lan Sect leader Lan Xichen.

The three siblings bow in respect, and Lan Xichen bows back looking graceful as ever in his Gusu Lan uniform. Wei Wuxian, "Young Master Lan, it's a pleasure to be invited to your home."

Smiling softly, Lan Xichen studies Wei Wuxian for a moment, "Thank you for accepting our invitation Young Master Wei. I've been looking forward to this mysterious black-wearing young boy who the Jiang Sect adopted."

Wei Wuxian, "You are mistaken Young Master Lan, I am only a mere servant and a disciple of Madam Yu, I am not their adoptive son, but I always saw Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli as my siblings."

Lan Xichen, "I am happy to hear that, I look forward…"

However, he was cut off when he spotted his younger brother coming in from the gates with other disciples coming in from behind him. Lan Wangji notices his brother and stops beside him before he turns his attention to the Jiang Sect who stood in front of his brother but then his eyes land on Wei Wuxian glaring at the black robes he was wearing. Ignoring the glare, and hardly meeting Lan Wnagji's eyes, afraid he might break down if he even stares in his eyes just for a moment. He bows once more to Lan Wangji.

Wei Wuxian, "Second Master Lan, this disciples name is Wei Wuxian, and my siblings Jiang Cheng, the future leader of Jiang Sect and our Jiejie Jiang Yanli."

Bowing his head concerning the Jiang sibling before turning his attention back to the stone face Wei Wuxian who still hasn't met him in his eyes. He already sized him up and deemed him to be a troublemaker, who he should keep an eye on.

Wei Wuxian turns to look at the already turned puppet of the young Gusu Lan Disciple and he frowns, already knowing it has started. Wei Wuxian, "May I heal your disciple?" he turns to Lan Xichen.

Lan Wangji, "Impossible."

Wei Wuxian, "I am guessing you tried medical herbs, and when that failed you passed him your energy from your Golden Core even to the point of almost passing out?"

Lan Wangji, "Mmh." he says with a nod but almost hesitant to say so to this stranger.

Wei Wuxian steps closer to the Gusu Lan disciple before leaning in closer to examine the marks on his throat, he caught them in time, so without further thought, Wei Wuxian reaches his hand out over the disciples face before commanding the resentful energy to leave the body and come to him. Dark cloudy mist rose from the body and swirled around Wei Wuxian's fingertips before disappearing into his skin before it was all gone and slowly the veins that crossed his disciples next also vanished without a trace and color started to return.

Almost in an instant second, the disciple shot straight up out of the cot taking a large deep breath with his eyes open in horror. Slowly he calmed down once again before laying back down and drifting into a deep sleep. Everyone was shocked to see what just accrued.

Lan Xichen, "Young Master Wei, how did you…?"

Wei Wuxian, "I merely just took the resentful energy from his body and let it reside in me, which then my Golden Core destroyed." he explains.

Lan Wangji's glare only deepens, realizing the only way Wei Wuxian could've done it was if he was practicing the dark arts or Demonic Cultivation, upon realizing, he was drawing his sword which shocked his brother at his Lan Wangji's short fuse. Jiang Cheng pulls his sister behind him and draws his sword, and the Jiang disciples follow suit by drawing their own. Even the close Gusu Lan Disciples decided to join in even if they didn't have a clue as to why they were about to fight, and ready to break one of their own rules.

Everyone was ready for the fight except for Wei Wuxian and of course, Lan Xichen. Wei Wuxian, "Second Master Lan, why have you drawn your sword and pointed it against me when I have brought your disciple back? Am I that untrustworthy?"

Lan Wangji, "Shut up!" he snapped which shocked his brother, never hearing him speak to anyone this way before. "Demonic Cultivation is wrong… you are wrong!"

Wei Wuxian looks away fighting the tears in his eyes, Wei Wuxian, "You've taken one look at me and decided I am nothing but black haven't you Lan er ge?" For the first time in a long time, Wei Wuxian looks his old friend in the eyes, "Go on then, end me."

Jiang Cheng, "Wei Wuxian! Stop talking nonsense and draw your sword!"

Wei Wuxian, "I know you want to. End me, Lan Zhan. Drive Bichen into my chest and let me bleed out on Cloud Recesses floor."

Shocked that not only did this stranger know his sword's name but his birth name as well. Lan Wangji, "How did you…?" but quickly it must be only his dark tricks to throw him off.

Lan Qiren, "What is going on out here, fighting is against our rules." Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen's Uncle came out to hear what was disturbing the piece but to find it was his nephew pointing his sword to a guest who hasn't even drawn out their own.

Lan Xichen, "Uncle. Lan Wangji has come home with a disciple who was… unconscious, and Young Master Wei Wuxian was able to draw out the resentful energy and bring the disciple back to us, but in doing so, drew the resentful energy to himself, when Lan Wangji pulled out his sword on him." he explains as he bows to his Uncle.

Lan Qiren turns to Wei Wuxian, stroking his beard while studying him, Wei Wuxian bows to the teacher of Cloud Recesses, Wei Wuxian, "Teacher Lan, this disciple is Wei Ying, courtesy name Wuxian, I have done no wrong, and the resentful energy I pulled from your disciple has already been destroyed by my Golden Core."

Lan Qiren, "I see, I must judge you even if you are her son, as it seems you've taken more after your father." he turns to glare at Lan Wangji, "As for my nephew I apologize for his behavior, I don't know what's got into him, but he will be punished accordingly, Young Master Wei."

Wei Wuxian, "Please don't punish Second Master Lan too harshly, I would understand it would be unsightly to see someone willing harness resentful energy as I've done."

After their morning events, Wei Wuxian and his other siblings were led to their rooms, and told lunch would be served in the dining hall in half an hour.

Jiang Cheng, "Can you believe that guy? You saved his disciple and he has the shame to draw his sword on you! You draw misfortune wherever you go Wei Wuxian!"

Wei Wuxian, "Watch what you say, Jiang Cheng, for your tongue might get us in trouble one day."

Jiang Cheng wanted to argue some more but thought better against it knowing his brother is, and as always, right. Jiang Cheng, "I am going to take a small nap before lunch, then I'll unpack tonight."

Wei Wuxian, "Mmh, I am going to the woods to meditate and clear my energy."

Sitting upright from his bed, Jiang Cheng looks over to his brother to see if he was alright. He was made aware when they were fourteen of Wei Wuxian's Golden Core, how it formed to be stronger than a normal fifteen-year-old Golden Core should be, and how Madam Yu taught Wei Wuxian to meditate at least twice a day for two hours to calm the energy his young body his holding. Jiang Cheng was warned not to push Wei Wuxian too hard, or he might quit. Though looking over Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng thought his brother looked fine, but it was hard to see past that cold expression in his eyes and that fake smile he always wears.

Jiang Cheng, "Wei Wuxian?"

Wei Wuxian, "Mmh?" he hums while unpacking his bag.

Jiang Cheng, "Don't ever offer yourself like that to anyone again!" he hisses, "If you can't seem to find a way to live for yourself, then at least live for Jiejie, live for me as well Wei Wuxian."

Halting his movement, Wei Wuxian knew what he was talking about and it brought the rear genuine smile upon his lips. Wei Wuxian, "Mmh."

It's been years since he last been here. Wei Wuxian took everything in once again but it is his third life, it wasn't as memorizing as it once was. Now, these walls only echo with memory for Wei Wuxian. Taking a familiar path down to the river, where a waterfall meets it, Wei Wuxian takes a deep breath of the calming atmosphere the mountain holds. Gilding onto a rock that rested in the middle of the open lake with the Waterfall looming behind him, Wei Wuxian sits perched upon the large rock and pulls out his Chenqing from his sleeve, looking at the beautiful red and black swirls glimmering in the sun. Pressing the instrument to his lips he played a song he heard from a long ago as if it were a dream to him. Letting his Golden Core soar beautiful red energy resonates from within him and squirms around him as if it were a dance.

Far off after receiving a harsh punishment from the discipline board upon his back, Lan Wangji was about to head to the cold springs to let the pain be washed away from him back and down the river. He was about to open the entrance to it when he stopped and listened to hear the sound of a flute. Something about it was captivating to Lan Wangji, to where he couldn't but help to follow the sound. It was normal to hear all different sounds of instruments in Cloud Recesses, but never a flute, for most don't see it as useful.

Coming across the waterfall, Lan Wangji spots a man in long flowy white Gusu robes, that was meant for the guest. Now however there was one thing that tugged on his attention, which was the red ribbon that flowed in the wind with long black hair. Lan Wangji noticed he had walked up on Wei Wuxian meditating, which caused him to look away in shame, feeling as if he just saw something he wasn't meant to.

Though it was too late, as the music stopped and Wei Wuxian back on his feet staring down Lan Wangji from across the river. Wei Wuxian, "Thou shall not fair in private matters, Second Master Lan." he glares down Lan Wangji, "It doesn't seem to be very proper for the Second Jade Twin of Gusu Lan to break not only one rule but now two in a day."

Lan Wangji, "You read the rules, on the stone wall."

Wei Wuxian, "Mmh, and have them memorized as well."

Lan Wangji, "Thou shall not interact with evil." Lan Wangji challenges, "Meddling with the dark arts is evil. It messes with the mind and the heart."

Wei Wuxian throws his head back in laughter, Wei Wuxian, "Taken one look at me and deemed me evil." he shakes his head, "Fine I'll kneel, I'll accept my title and tags. I, Wei Wuxian, the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation! One to be feared by all, the darkness in this world!" Wei Wuxian's gaze hardens and his silver eyes turn red as his energy starts to choke out the piece around them.

Taken aback to this side of Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji felt sick to his stomach. Not sickened at the sight of Wei Wuxian, but because it was him who pushed him to this point. It didn't seem right, this cold energy and expression. Lan Wangji felt as if a smile or even a smirk seemed more appropriate for this young man in front of him, and yet he was met with darkness because of how he acts out towards Wei Wuxian.
