Chapter 5

When I saw Alex near Micheal's basement latch, I ran quickly to him.

"I'm glad you're safe," Alex sighed in relief, "We have to go inside the latch, but be careful."

Alex quietly tugged the handle, as I was looking around to see if anyone else.

"Make your move quick before anyone sees you," I panicked.

The latch door opened, as I was quietly going under the stairs.

Please, please, please, hope that Micheal isn't awake!

My heart was thumping, as I looked around for any sign of Micheal.

"Should we head down that way?" Alex whispered, pointing to the aisle full of books and paint.

"Hopefully he's not wandering around there," I nervously answered.

We quietly walked to the aisles, as I was looking around for any sign of movement.

Unfortunately, I heard a noise in the distance, and my heart started hammering like a drum. I was terrified, and didn't know what else to do, before Alex grabbed my wrist.

"You have to be more careful," Alex whispered.

"Sorry," I apologized.

We went up the stairs, and I saw Murphy and Phoebe tied to a rope.

"What are you doing here," Phoebe questioned, annoyed.

"I came here to get you out of here," I reassured, "We have to go quickly."

I ripped open the ropes, as Alex was looking around for Micheal.

"Get out of here, Micheal is coming upstairs!" Alex ordered, as I was motioning them to go out the back door.

I opened the back door, and let everyone out. When I was about to close the back door, I saw Micheal and a strange figure appear near the basement door.

"Penelope get out before they kill you!" Alex warned, panicking.

I slammed the back door, and ran to the sidewalks, overthinking every single minute of the search.

To my surprise, Serena's car was already waiting, as Serena and Dylan were chatting with each other.

"I found Murphy and Phoebe," I informed Serena.

Serena ran to Phoebe, and they were hugging, as I was relieving myself from the living nightmare.

I signaled Phoebe and Serena to get inside the car before any more danger happens to us. As the car took off, I was trying to relieve myself from the scariest search of my life.

"Me and Alex almost got killed by Micheal and….a strange figure," I blurted out.

"What did the strange figure look like?" Serena curiously asked.

"Well," I started, "She had a mask and a suit on, but I saw a few strands of curly blond hair right before I ran out."

"I don't know anyone that had curly blond hair that would try to kill Murphy and Phoebe," Serena analyzed.

"It could be Michel's assistant," Dylan supplied.

"That's strange, Micheal usually doesn't have assistants since he is very powerful on his own," I answered, confused.

"I think it could be my ex-friend, Nicole," Murphy confessed, "After all, she's in love with a serial killer, and she hated me ever since I exposed the queen."

"Does she have curly blond hair?" Dylan asked.

"Well, she used to curly and lightish red hair, before she recently dyed her hair blond," Murphy explained.

"How long has Nicole been dating Micheal, and does she have any criminal records?" Serena questioned.

"Well," Murphy sighed, "Nicole had a few cases of stealing stuff from stores when she was dating Micheal, but nothing serious. And to answer your other question, she has been dating Micheal for about a year."

"Wow, that's even longer than my relationship with James," I chucked.

Serena gave me a serious look, before she started asking loads of questions about Micheal and Nicole's personal life, along with their relationship status. I scrolled through the news site to pass the time, and all I saw were loads of "Phoebe and Murphy missing" news pages and articles. There was only one newspage that talked about Micheal, and unfortunately, there were only talking about the bad things he did.
