Chapter 14

"Hello, you can sit down," The detective greeted us while pointing to the chairs.

"H-hello ," I nervously waved.

I sat down in one of the chairs, as the detective was preparing her documents

"Anyways, so around what time did you see Alex die?" The detective asked.

"4:30 PM I think," I answered, feeling confused.

In the meeting, I felt overwhelmed by the enormous amount of questions the detective asked us.

"Hey I think it's enough," Murphy dismissed the detective, "You can go now."

I was feeling relieved when this was all over, as me and James walked out of Murphy's office.

"Now the detective thinks we're suspects," James muttered.

"No," I reassured, "They just want to know what happened at the spot."

"Then why haven't they interviewed Queen Mendoza, she hated Alex?" James snapped.

I stayed silent since James was really mad as it is, and I don't want to do further damage.

When I got home, I saw Sam got escorted by the guards, as Serena was crying her eyes out.

"What happened?" I asked, curious.

"While you were gone, they had an enormous fight until Sam decided that he was going to divorce Serena, and resign from his king position," Phoebe explained.

"Oh so they did not work out I guess huh," I muttered, feeling disappointed.

Hope for Mokland has officially been ruined.

Later in the night, I watched the news, and aside from the "incident" 2 days ago, there was widespread news about Serena's and Sam's divorce, as people were crying and saying that they were the best couple ever, and they were perfect for each other, even though they had a few fights here and there.

First they hated Serena for her irresponsible actions, and now this. Honestly, the Mokland people switched up way too fast.

I decided to turn off the news, since this whole "divorce" thing isn't very interesting to me, seeing that Sam had a good reason to divorce Serena because she was very irresponsible and ignorant.

Later that night, as I was sleeping, I heard a big thump from below. I brushed it off, and went back to sleep, but as soon as I heard another thump, I decided to jump out of bed, and go see what's that all about. As I was walking, I heard strange voices, and giggles, and I panicked because it could be one of the criminals. I got out my camera and hid behind the pillar so that they won't spot me.

I have to expose them myself, and send them back to prison because the police won't do it.

As I was hiding, I saw them quietly walking to the study room, so I got up, and slowly followed them, making as little movement as possible.

I hid behind the bush, and pointed the camera slightly towards the room. I saw them snoop through the drawers, taking out papers, and making a mess around the study table. They sure have to clean this one up.

After they finished, I stopped the recording, and hid just in time, as they were walking out, laughing.

"See you in jail," I grinned.

I went back upstairs, and ran straight to my room. When I entered my room, I walked to my bed, and placed my phone in the nightstand. Then, I went back to sleep.

The next morning, I arose from my bed feeling pretty confident and excited since I got the evidence of the criminals last night. Hopefully this proves that the police are completely useless.

I quickly got dressed, and went downstairs to eat some breakfast. When I entered the kitchen, Phoebe was already stirring some tea, as Alex and Dino were sitting in the living room. Everybody has gone quiet ever since Sam divorced Serena. I guess they couldn't handle the divorce, as they're not their usual selves today.

"Hello," I nervously started, "So Phoebe, I think you or Serena might need to control the guards since they broke in last night?"

"How are they even getting in, did the vocal teacher get the key?" Phoebe wondered.

"I think they broke in," I responded.

"But aren't they guards?" Phoebe asked.

"Ever since Serena and Sam divorced, the guards are getting a lot more lazier at their job (some even disappeared." I explained.
