After a carefully studied delay, Chief Temük appeared at the door of his yurt, accompanied by who was undoubtedly his wife. Both moved with the elegance that one would expect in a 19th century European royal court. The two spouses were dressed in identical garments, although logically adapted to the size and sex of each one. A fine tunic carefully embroidered with gold, blue and black threads covered all the clothing they wore underneath. The sleeves, neck, and lower edges of the tunic were blue, the same color as the embroidery. The Khan wore a blue sash at the waist, and had a cap made of the same fabric as the tunic with a blue velvet lining. His boots were lined on the outside with black fabric exquisitely embroidered with scrolls of gold thread.
