The Key!

“Eno! Eno what have you done?” Lanre said. Tears already welling up in her eyes. Then she realised saying that will make the teenager panic. She bit her lips. She could not just blame the girl since Eno had done it to defend her. But K?

Lanre told him to hold on that she would call for help and realised that where they were was a secluded place. Everyone seem to be minding their business and you could barely find anybody at home. What if before she is able to get help, K looses too much blood? She held his hand asking him to follow her so they can get to the hospital on time. K refused Lanre’s offer and walked his way down to the door. He tried to pull it open to the realisation that it was locked. He requested for them to open the door without even looking at anyone of them. Eno still looked frightened. Lanre sighed when she noticed this. She asked Eno for the key. But Eno seemed lost.

“Eno the key!” Lanre called out loud. Eno brought out the key from the pocket of her trousers and handed it over to Lanre. Lanre took it and opened the door. As though on queue, Christian was standing at the door. He seemed to have want to open the door to come in.

“Chris, I’m glad you are here. Kehinde is hurt”. Lanre said finally letting down the tears. Christian rushed in. He clenched his fist. He told K he will drive him to the hospital. But K refused his help. He went into his car and drove off himself.

“Chris please follow him. He is bleeding in”. Lanre cried. Christian saw the sadness and the fear in her eyes. He sighed and went out of the house. He got into his car and went after K. It’s Lanre’s wish, so he was going to do it.

Eno was confused as to why Lanre was crying so much when the guy was actually trying to hurt her. But then, she could not say a word to Lanre. She was still fearful as to what she did. Lanre walked past Eno without a word. Eno wondered if she should run away. What if she gets arrested? From the look of things Lanre doesn’t seem happy with her.

“Go inside and reflect on what you did. We will talk about your misdeed later”. Lanre’s words reached Eno’s ears. She thought Lanre already left. But it was at this point Lanre left the living room. Lanre got into her room. She picked up her phone and kept staring at it as though she was expecting it to ring. She looked anxious. Fear was evident in her face. Five minutes felt like a decade to Lanre. She could no longer hold back. She dialled Christian’s phone number. She needed to know if K is safe. But Christian did not pick up. This got her even more worried and left her with no choose but to spam Christian’s phone with calls.
