After Aaron finished making Eno’s hair, Sharon and Eno left for the school with Tega driving them there. The school was almost at it’s closing period. Eno was in awe. The school was big compared to her previous school. And it looked really sophisticated. She would never had believed she would step into a school environment as this not to mention her being a student. They could never have afford the luxury.
“I like this place”. Eno said even before to got into the principal’s office. Sharon told her the school was everything to like. Eno nods in agreement. They were led into the principal’s office by security. Sharon and Eno greeted the principal. It was a man that seemed to be in his early 50s. He offered them a seat. He looked at the two of them waiting for one person to talk at least. Sharon suddenly felt out of place. She has never brought a child to register in school before. She definitely didn’t know she would feel this way.
“Miss Lanre asked me to come register this young lady on her behalf. She called you?” Sharon asked. Her lips quivered at the end. The principal gave them a serious look before clearing his throat.
“Are you miss Eno?” The principal asked. Eno told him yes. He nods his head. He asked her what class she was in her previous school.
“Senior secondary one”. Eno said. He asked her about her age.
“I will soon be sixteen”. Eno said. The principal stood up and asked them to follow him. He took them to the office of the admin where Eno was given a form to fill. Eno filled everything but her surname and her state of origin including her local government area.
“Eno, why are you not filling in your surname? What about you state of origin?” The principal asked her. She shook her head. She had a frown plastered on her face. She was yet to get over what happened to her. The principal told her she has to fill in everything.
“I am from the same place as aunty Lanre”. Eno said. She was clueless where Lanre was actually from. She told the principal she would take the form home and complete it.
“Are you sure?” The principal asked. Sharon answered in place of her.
“She will fill it at home Sir”. Sharon said. She pulled Eno along with her and they left the office of the admin who looked at the principal in confusion. She was probably wondering why a grown up girl like Eno could not write down her surname or her place of origin. But she dare not say a word as the principal would not condone any form of gossip.
The proprietor had instructed the principal that the girl was to resume immediately after filling the form, so the principal was not okay with the idea of Eno taking the form home. Yet he could not for the kid. He just hope it is not taken up against him, this matter.
