After Much Drama

Olasile looked at Ify wondering why the young lady suddenly looked like a possessed doll, stepping up to her and asking her such a question. Is she supposed to be afraid of losing a daughter in-law that will not profit them? She eyes Ify badly and told her there was no consequence as her marriage with her son would neither bring them any advantage. She told Ify to just tell K she was done. Olasile was doing it this way because K already made it clear she should not involve herself in his relationship, so she was going to make Ify be the one to back out.

“Ma, I really like your Kehinde and I do not think I want to let him go now. It’s either you are on my side or ready to face public embarrassment”. Ify said with a smirk on her face. Olasile laughed. She told Ify she won’t be the one to get embarrassed. Ify laughed back at her. She shook her head.

“The mistake you made was try to make my mother steal money for you. I have it recorded in a video. If you try to make me leave Kehinde, I will make sure it goes viral. Trust me, EFCC will come for you. And I don’t think anyone would want your husband to be the next Governor after that”. Ify said. Seeing how Olasile suddenly looked pale, she winked at her.

“So, please make sure Lanre does not come close to me, your secretary or whatever she is to you, I don’t care”. Ify said patting the woman’s shoulder before walking away. Olasile slumped into the couch. Is Ify faking it or the threat is real? She seemed too bold for she to be faking it. Olasile thought. She shook her head telling herself this was not the major problem. She still needs to get to her husband because as it is, Temitope will no longer listen to her.

Lanre sat with her legs crossed in a bar. Amongst everyone there, she seem to be the odd one out as she was drinking malt while others were drinking different alcoholic drink.

“You are late!” She said without lifting her eyes up. Turns out she was waiting for somebody.

“You came early!” Ebube said chuckling. Lanre finally looked up at with with a wry smile. She made a gesture for him to sit right opposite her. But Ebube sat right next to her.

“After much drama, I deserved to sit right next to you”. Ebube said. Lanre told him to keep his dreams fixed in the dark and move away from her side. Ebube clicked his tongue before going to sit on the chair opposite hers. He told her this was the same attitude she displayed when they met at Laura White’s birthday party. Lanre did not show any care for his words. She looked away and signaled for the bar attendant.

“There’s no need for that. I won’t be drinking”. Ebube said to her.
