Chapter 7

Umakyat ako ng kwarto.

I close the door just as Damon steps in from the terrace.

Nagkatinginan kami.

None of us spoke immediately.

I decide to break the silence.

"One week Damon, I'm giving you one week to find her. After that, find her or not, I'm out of here."

"What if I don't agree?"

"I wasn't actually asking. I am telling you."

Pagod na ako Damon. Not that anyone cares.

"One week of pretending to be your wife. That's it!"

He didn't say anything else but he kept staring at me.

I stare right back.

D POV

D*mn it!

Her face is blank but her whole demeanor... I keep remembering the first time I saw Bea dancing in that dark studio.

I saw her by accident.

I was looking for my friend Dominique when I chanced upon a woman dancing in the dark.

No music.

I was frozen in my spot.

She was dancing with so much emotion that it was so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

Sadness enveloped her whole being.

I felt it with every move that she made.

I got out of the studio when I heard someone clap.

I didn't know why but I didn't want her to know that I saw her dancing so I got out before she could see me.

But I stayed by the door.

My heart was pounding.

The clapping stopped.

"Bravo Bea! Bravo!" it was my friend Dominique.

So her name is Bea.

She who brings happiness.

But why are you so sad Bea?

Maybe I didn't know it myself then but since that day, I wanted to make her happy.

And I did!

Or so I thought.

Dahil kung totoo ang sinasabi ni Bella, ibig sabihin I didn't make her happy.

Because if I did, then she would be the one here with me.

"Okay fine, I agree!" nakatitig ako sa mga mata nya.

"But on one condition..."

Tumaas lang ang kilay nya.

"I want to call a truce... you don't have to act like Bea, just be yourself...that's all I ask."

B POV

"...You don't have to act like Bea, just be yourself..."

Oh the irony of it all!

I shook his hand.

"Deal!"

After we shook hands, there was an awkward silence.

"What do you want to eat for lunch? I'll cook!"

He looks at me skeptically.

"Hindi kita lalasunin promise!"
