The Golden Circle

In the beginning there was nothing and then there was light, light which shone brightly from an unknown origin, a Circle which emanated a beautiful Golden Aura which eventually diminished but from it's will a phenomenon took place which filled the space with light, one that would never diminish. This is my second fantasy novel after A Circle Of Time which I started on a whim but liked how it was progressing so made it into a full novel. This one is although not directly connected to the world of Red Zero the Protagonist of that novel but I might add some cameos later as and when this story develops and I enjoy it enough to keep writing it. I hope you would support me in this journey to find something new through my novels keep reading. I would also really appreciate reviews, chapter comments and power stones if you really like my new endeavor. Thank You for reading, Red Zero

Demrada Dreyer

'Despair', that is what had stricken the Dreyer family as they faced pain after pain. Their, firstborn child turned to be a stillborn and now their second attempt at having a child has resulted in a child born with an extremely rare condition of not possessing an Origin Core in their body. Resulting in not being able to gather Origin Energy the foundation of everything.

This meant that this child for the rest of the world is worse than a stillborn child, it's a crippled child. That thought caused Lydia to go into shock and becoming unconscious while Demrada the lord of the house, a Member of the senior nobility as a Machia has been asked to arrive at the Royal Palace in front of the Emperor to listen to his stance on these happenings.

The second son of the Guardian born as a cripple and the first being born dead has majorly changed the power dynamics in the political spectrum of the Empire, causing Demrada's household to be demoted to that of a Vasyrys with very few words being uttered with it as the Royal Decree.

"Give birth to a more appropriate heir and take back your position, Demrada. Although I am thankful for your years of service, such a severe lack of ability in an heir is unacceptable."

Having nothing else to do Demrada just averted his eyes and headed back to his Mansion in his domain which he would soon have to leave due to the Royal Decree stating him to withdraw from there. Although facing these terrible conditions, he didn't seem like he cared. He has finally gotten a child, a beautiful boy that he and Gwendolyn had, so accepting all of the pain that came with it he swore that he would make Gwydion someone who is worthy, as he walked home leaving the carriage that he had come in. A Vasyrys was no longer senior nobility which meant that he lacked the qualification to ride that carriage he had arrived at the Royal Capital in.

Having his domain in the next town over alone with his thought's he fought against his inner demons and tried to contemplate on what to do after this.

Give in to the command and give birth to another child while his wife has just given birth to a child and is still in shock? or just accept the penalty? or leave the Empire?

This Empire has been his home for which he has given his all and has protected it from countless enemies but just from giving birth to someone who doesn't have an Origin Core to be treated as a thrash is indeed difficult.

As anger seethed within him, he crossed the paved road and walked through the thicket while using the sword which was attached at his waists. His old trusty Dremer, the only thing his master had created and left him with. With her teachings and this sword, he was indeed invincible in the Empire, having never lost a battle when he uses it.

Soon cutting through the thicket, he landed in a place which was unknown to him. His body moving involuntarily as he keeps going in that direction.

"Is this a honeydew's doing, did I get trapped in its spell? But that shouldn't be the case considering my strength. Let me go check it out."

Following the direction with a little more caution this time as he was ambushed by various monsters of different types. A wasp monster, a werewolf, a troll, an ogre, and five high ranking orcs. Each of them is at least a B-ranking monster and the weird part is that the wasp monster and the werewolf are of A-rank which shouldn't be the case while the other B-ranking monster also looks stronger than they usually are which causes me to wonder about what could cause this.

"No matter how hard I rack my brain to think of it, for the sake of me, I am unable to come to any conclusions as to what could have caused such an evolution. Although this is the question, should I deal with them or leave them as is."

Although originally he would have immediately sprung into action his current hate seems to have been clouding his judge causing him to question whether he should take action or not.

"Ah haha, a teensy human has come in front of us but it seems that he better than those stupid humans who had come through this route and had met us earlier. How cocky were they thinking they could hurt us. Buhuhahaah."

"Ah, Grey just forget them. Although they indeed were a good meal. Looks like another meal has arrived for us just in time."

BURP

Just as a sound of a loud burp came out of the monsters who seem to have been conversing with each other in the Reinle tongue, the ancient language the sentient monsters here used to use Demrada felt cold sweat forming on his back as he partially understood what they meant.

The only reason Demrada was able to recognize the language they had spoken in and had even a little understanding of what was said was that he had studied it once in the past but because he didn't spend much time on it his understanding of the language was subpar but he did get a general gist of it.

These monsters here were sentient monsters who sought his life. Demrada however angry he is at the Empire, in his hearts is a true battle seeker.

He has fought countless people seeking stronger and stronger enemies to test his mettle and to grow stronger from that experience. The monsters seem to have lost interest in waiting and seems to have to the offensive as they charge ahead at full speed at Demrada.

His innermost instincts kicked in as he covered himself in Origin Energy but he forced it back inside and decided to do something stupid. He decided to try something for the first time, something which he had developed for the baby boy he has named Gwydion.

'Ki', the ability to direct life energy from the surroundings and use it to enhance yourself physically to such a degree that your attacks can break any barrier and create a thick enough barrier to prevent any attacks from getting through, at least in theory.

Although he had already been developing a different form of combat which doesn't require Origin Energy for a while now. The need for it to work has been made rather urgent due to the condition Gwydion has been born with.

As Demrada covered himself with a thick layer of Life Force, the strikes coming from multiple directions had already arrived too close for comfort but he didn't let go, he has to do this to bring up Gwydion and allow him to be able to live for that he needs to prove that this method works again stronger enemies so he sheathes his trusted Dremer back and holds up his fist covered in the Life Force, he punches the ogre back and tanks the attacks from the high ranking orcs while dodging the attacks of the werewolf and the wasp monster. Out of the entire gathering here, those two were the only ones who pose any threat.

Although, just as he thought that their powers started to grow. Soon the ogre which was punched aside came back and the regular attacks stopped working against them. Leaving Demrada baffled with himself. He regained his composure as he evaluated his situation to finally see it, a black strand connected to them supplying a huge amount of energy to them.

It appears as if the one who is pulling their strings is the source of their strange powers. Leading Demrada to believe that the longer he delays killing them, the stronger they will get. So the only way to be able to defeat them is before they get stupid powerful is to kill them as soon as possible.

So Demrada quits playing around as he unsheaths his sword and covers that in Life Force as he rushes forward to face them.
