Resisting Absolution (2)
[Ella's POV]
A straight punch. No deviations of any sort even if calculated as much as to infinity.
"I knew Anastasia would come." Lust spoke to me.
A new Queen. With no other information available about her. No other creature in Heaven knows about her…. Not even Adiamantus.
And she has even beaten me in this timeline siege.
But why had she come for Andrew…?
"Ella, you didn't have to be shy. You could have made it more obvious." She rolled her eyes. "Using slaves to aid a contestant in a duel is not a crime."
"She's my friend."
"Cutting open paths to different timelines is a crime though, isn't it? Ah I forget, remind me who was incharge of looking over that again?"
I am.
Anastasia and I met when she by mistake tore open into this timeline I was hiding in.
We immediately became best friends…
We talked about so many things…Food, icecream, sunsets…
She told me how she had this amazing brother whom she loves a lot…
And that her mother was dying…
That took a toll on his brother and she feels sad about it.
So, I helped her out and agreed to make her mother immortal after she dies.
That was a lot of hassle on my side, since I had to get in touch with Death and work out a deal.
But in return, even though I didn't ask for anything…
She helped me… by complimenting Andrew's soul…
You need a cute guy like him, I'm telling you. That's what she had said…
And… she knows exactly what kind of guy I like… someone like Andrew.
And that's not all, we together planned my entire life on a planet named Earth. From how I was born as Bella, Andrew gets a chance to meet me at a very young age, how we'll get married and have kids…
But Andrew… he… he never looked at me romantically… I designed my human body to look perfect, the best from what Anastasia recommended to me. But not once, not even one time did he try to touch me.
Anastasia always sent monsters down to Andrew and asked him to come up and play but my stupid sweetheart also didn't pay heed to her.
I swear Andrew is so obsessed with his cultivation! He even randomly broke the canon timeline I set for us, and nonchalantly married a different human!
At one point, I even thought about destroying this timeline since it made me sad…
Anastasia even destroyed one branch of the timeline as a prank because she was so angry for me.
It was not a big deal, I could have fixed it easily…
But Anastasia again helped back then and brought her dad, the Girlfriend Thief. I've heard once that he's renowned in all of Heaven and Hell for his services.
And he was a wonderful mechanic. He fixed the timeline deviation free of cost. I think I'll hire his services again in the future.
"Look, my warrior was even kind enough to send that kid back home." Lust giggled.
I was so fed up. Andrew…I didn't think she'd be this strong.
To be able to mimic my powers so well that she beat me in my own game, even now I just can't imagine it.
"I will not aid you in the upcoming War." I turned and looked at Andrew.
He is broken…
Her warrior… He broke his soul…
"Who said anything about you? I only need him. That was the bet." Lust haughtily giggled.
Such trickery! She planted that opening there! It was all a trap to lure me in using Andrew!
And she somehow even managed to capture Andrew by predicting Anastasia's actions. This much strength difference between us is impossible, I have met everyone who is stronger than me.
But I simply am unable to counter her!
"So you want to get married to him and have his kids? Ugh, so boring. Why not let him come play with us big players?" Lust swooned as she looked down at Andrew.
She's an extortionist! She's blackmailing me thinking I'm a fool!
"Don't worry about his organ, he won't need it. Take my suggestion, this new him will be more entertaining. Why not retry a new life with him?"
You're blatantly messing with the wrong Goddess if you think my powers are that weak. I will not tolerate this insult.
"I declare in the name of the Eternal Goddess of Time, the Future from this checkpoint that Heaven will follow. My Husband Andrew Dash,The New God of Time will kill Lust's warrior, Ray Astraeus."
Lust laid her eyes on me.
"Without a heart." I reaffirmed her gaze.
That is my Tenet.
"Girlfriend thief, you said, right? Let's see how he tastes." Lust licked her lips dicely.
"What…?" I was taken aback.
"And. My name is not Lust." Lust copied my style and overlaid it with a bottle of provocative ketchup.
"It is Absolution. The Ruler of Heaven." She looked down at the burning fiery room in which Ray was standing over Anastasia's physical corpse. "Greed."
"You won't mind if I take this." A human looking android, taller than Ray, was standing beside him.
He was facing the opposite direction, so Ray and him weren't even looking at the same things.
"..." Ray just stared ahead like a statue. He didn't even flinch at the new entity next to him.
"Correct, Greed." Lust casually called that name again. "I won't."
Greed picked up Anastasia's soul and exited without a hint of evidence except my and Lust's knowledge.
"Reji City is mine now." Ray looked up at Lust after Greed left. "And her freedom."
"That was the agreement. Congratulations." Lust giggled.
She became more ruthless and barbaric in her tone when she spoke to Ray.
"You can have her back. You'll need her."
Lust then looked at me. "But what about Enna? Who will save her?"
The darkness in Ray's eyes dissipated and he returned to a weaker human form.
"I'll do it myself. Without your help." Ray locked eyes with Lust.
To think that he's staring directly at her like that… His powers are something to reckon. I shouldn't have let Andrew fight him…
"Very well. Do as you please." Lust then pulled Ray's soul back to his world and looked at me.
"The same for you." She went away from my residence.
Tension filled me as I worried over Andrew's safety.
What have I done? The Great Heavenly War… Will it happen again because of me?
Andrew…I'm sorry I've involved you in this…
If Adiamantus were here, he'd know what to do.
"Why did you have to go away now, Adiamantus…?" I sighed.
Tring Tring
My divine senses picked up a letter left at a specific point in the timeline.
"Hey Boss, I'm leaving this message behind to let you know that three timelines in Universe 11.02e1sd…"
Work again? Why is everything so jumbled up for me?
"Sigh…" I relaxed and collected my energy.
Andrew…
When I was almost serious about ending it, thinking Bella was not your type… I wanted to scare you because I… was angry..
I thought that my hideous real face would scare you…
But…but…
You…you looked so happy when you saw me. I have never seen you smile at me like that…
"Sigh…" I felt a little happy and sad at the same time. "Let's see if what Lust said is true."
