Goblin

Upon returning to the gym, Sora just watched things happen while in deep thought about how to use his abilities. after some time, the school came to an end and they headed home. while others waited for buses or took cars home, they walked as their home was not too far away.

Upon returning home, Sora told everyone he awakened his ability at the dinner table, but he didn't tell them his ability name as he shouldn't know that, even so, this was something that shocked everyone there. they were happy in the end. this meant that Sora could finally enter a dungeon and start getting stronger.

while eating, Sora found that he no longer got full or hungry, he guessed that he no longer needed food or water, instead, he seem to just eat for pleasure. Sora wanted to see how long he could go without eating, but knowing his mother she would not allow him to get a day without food.

after eating, Hana and Sora first did their homework before they got their free time, although it was more of Sora helping his sister out. after which, they moved on to play some video games with Levi, while playing with this world version of the play station, but far better

the VR of this world is also far better than earth VR, simply wearing a headset and sitting there would put one in a VR world. there any will to move would make the VR avatar move, but if your thoughts to move are too strong, it could lead to one main body move, people found that it was a good way for one to train their mind as they had to control their brain waves while fighting

Anyways, their mother didn't allow them to use the VR, so they were forced to simply use this home video game console.

that night, Sora found that sleep for him was like entering rest mode. his body was mortal, but his mind wasn't. So his sleeping was like a phone charging, this was a bit useful but sadly he couldn't dream anymore.

the next day was a no-school day. So, Levi, Sora, and Hana went out to clear a Copper grade Dungeon, a dungeon open to the public known as the goblin dungeon.

monsters within a dungeon were pretty much immortal, you can kill them all you like, but once the dungeon is cleared, the monsters within the dungeon shall respawn after a week. In other words, once a dungeon is cleared, a week is needed for it to be reopened to the public.

it has been found the monsters found within the dungeon that respawn are to some degree the same monster. its almost like they are reborn, but they can't be reborn during the time someone is in the dungeon and is trying to clear the dungeon,

No one knows why dungeons appear, they don't know the reasons behind it all, but they do know that their appearance was both a blessing and a curse. If a powerful dungeon just up and appeared and they can't clear it, every lifeform on this planet would be goners,

but dungeons were like a resource's mind, allowing them to gain an almost endless amount of energy and resources.

anyways, the group of 3 arrived before the copper rank dungeon, it was a copper gate where a brick wall was built around. sitting to the side of a gate was an officer, who went on to take the information of those entering the gate. as this was a public gate, anyone can enter, they simply had to pay a fee, and 3% of their loot would be taken.

It turned out Levi had booked today for them to enter the dungeon, allowing them not to worry about if the dungeon was cleared or not, or have to wait a long time to enter the dungeon. So, the dungeon was opened and they entered

as they entered, they found themselves in a cave, Sora couldn't help but hold his nose from the smell, seeing this Hana laughed slightly, she too needed time to get used to the smell within these dungeons,

"what weapon do you think suits you?" Levi asked calmly, he had asked Sora long ago this question, and there were many things he could use. Spears, swords, bows, guns, shields, and so on, the weapons to pick were huge and wide

"I want to be Hana who could hold her own in both close and long-range... So, I guess for now I would do a sword, and switch around until I find the weapon which best suits my ability." Sora said softly, Levi nodded slightly at Sora's words before he gave Sora a sword which he pulled out of a storage bag,

Sora struggled to hold the sword due to its weight, he was slightly stunned as within Levi's hands, it was like a stick, but to him, although he could swing it around, it was going to take some work to do so.

"Goblins are weaker than humans, Copper rank goblins are about the same level as a fully grown adult. but they are skilled and have better adaptive capabilities than humans, it could take humans weeks up to years to get used to a place, but goblins, it would take days to a few months." Hana taking the chance to be a teacher began spilling out information about Goblins,

which Sora calmly listened to as he love Hana too much to take the chance for her to act like a teacher. it was weird, when he looked at Hana, he didn't feel dead inside. the same was for his mother and father, but not to the same degree as Hana.

Sora didn't see Hana as an elder step-sister, but he saw her be more of a big elder sister than others would see their sister.

while Hana was talking, Sora noticed something from the corner of his eyes, time seemed to slow down as he looked over and saw an arrow flying over toward him. His god eyes activated on their own once he noticed danger, leading to Sora seeing faster, better, and reacting quicker.

"Goblins' skill sets are all based around 4 things, surviving, adapting, coping, and weapon mastery," Hana said calmly as she held out a palm and cooly caught the arrow without the need to look at it.

her senses were high, she could sense the gravity of things around her, so she had already sensed the goblins which were hidden within the dark cave. Sora looking at his sister clapped his hands slightly, he could tell her hand was hurting right now from catching that arrow, but it still looked cool.

"you think something like this is impressive? It's simple," Hana said with a smile as she dropped the arrow, put her hands behind her back, and rubbed her palm which was in pain. she wouldn't have done that knowing it would have hurt,

"..." Levi shook his head slightly while watching the two, in truth he didn't need to be here. Hana can solo this dungeon on her own. the fact that she could have the goblins float into the sky and attack allowed her to act carelessly within copper grade dungeon,

although the age for this was short, anything which come within her rage would become lighter or heavy to her wishes, or even be pushed back, to the sides, or something hold them in place. her ability was just too useful,

"almost forgot, when entering a dungeon you have to be ready for anything. flashlights, medicine of all kinds, food, water, backup weapons and so many more." She said as she pulled out a bag and handed it to Sora, but her arm was grabbed by Levi.

"If he wants one, he will work for it," Levi said calmly, Hana had saved enough money to buy this bag, which was of course expensive, but it was the lowest-grade storage bag, E rank, capable of holding a suitcase worth of stuff.

"but I bought this with my own money," Hana said with a deep frown, to buy her storage bag, it took months' worth of hard work, and what made it suck more was that she had to carry everything, she, of course, couldn't use a bag because of the stuff being too heavy, she would only make herself tired if she used her ability to help her carry it.

"I Don't care. Like you, Sora would need to learn everything starting from nothing. if you give to him behind my back, you will be grounded." Levi said calmly, Hana pouted slightly as she put the bag away, before looking towards Sora, who was simply looking at her.

With a sigh, Hana stepped forward, it was now to start hunting. she remembered the first time she killed a monster, but back she didn't have the strength to do it, her father pushed her, after which she threw up, but as she killed more and more monsters, the effect it had on her weakened to the point it no longer affected her,

now it was time for Sora. looking forward toward the holes within the caves, she watched as another arrow was shot toward them, followed by a green goblin rushing toward them with a dagger in hand,

"they are testing us, the stronger goblins watch on as the weaker ones throw themselves at the enemy. this is how goblins work. I will kick it towards you, and you attack," Hana said calmly as she smoothly dodge the incoming arrow before dodging the goblin before she kicked it toward Sora,

Sora looked at the green goblin which was about to get up to stab him. Sora looked at its stats for a moment.

Seeing that the Goblin was about to attack him, Sora acted quickly and stabbed his sword into its chest. Blood flew out, as the goblin dropped dead to the ground, Sora froze for a moment as this was his first kill in both life... well if you didn't take into account that he took his own life in his past life,

"..." no one said a thing while watching Sora who just froze there was looking at the dead goblin, he just took a life, so that needed to sink in for some time. but to their shook, the goblin which should have died slowly got up. Sora suddenly held his head and stumbled backward from the goblin, allowing the goblin to stand up while pulling the sword out of its chest, allowing the wound in its chest to slowly close.

Sora's face turned pale, and he slowly got skin as if he hasn't eaten for days. Sora fell to his knees, to try to stand up, he felt like he has been up for a few days now. Levi watched this scene for some time, before stopping Hana who was about to kill the Goblin.

the two watched as the Goblin looked at Sora, before moving to protect him while looking coldly at the two of them while holding Sora's sword.

"He is a Necromancer?" Hana was in shock, abilities to bring the dead back to life as undead were not rare. but Sora did more than simply bring the goblin back to life, he even had the goblin's injuries heal, although it seemed weaker than when it was alive.

everyone agreed that there was no such thing as an evil ability, even so, necromancers were looked down upon, as they would go out of their way and slaughter many to get more powerful undead on their side.

Of course, there were some powerful Necromancers who fought for the side of the kingdom, so they had nothing to form about for Sora. but made Hana shocked because of two things,

one, Sora didn't even try and use his ability and it worked on its own, it was out of his control, leading to the goblin being brought back to life. his ability also showed its full capability, as it was out of Sora's control.

Two, Sora seems to burn his fat in return to heal the goblin, and the goblin looked as if it was alive, with it only being weaker than before.

this was a growth type of ability, they were sure Sora's ability was more complex than it simply looked. Levi watched as Sora struggled to stand up, but with the look in Sora's eyes, Levi could tell Sora had used up a lot of mental energy.

Pulled out a potion from his bag, he went on to give it to Sora, the goblin, of course, tried to stop him, but it was sent flying with a wave.

"This potion restores mental energy," he said softly as she had Sora drink it, and the sleepy look in Sora's eyes quickly disappeared upon doing so. getting up while holding his head, Sora felt like his mind was far stronger than before, more than twice as strong.

"we will take time to have you learn to control this ability, do you remember the feeling you got when the goblin came back to life?" Levi asked, it would be troublesome if Sora walked through a grave and suddenly a bunch of undead came out of the ground,

"... No," Sora shook his head slightly, he was feeling other emotions when he took the life of that goblin, seeing as he was taking the life of something else... it brought him some life, it could be said that it brought him some pleasure. this shocked him as he was not that type of person, he didn't go out of his way seeking to harm others... it scared him slightly.

"then you must learn to control this ability by using it. As you kill, take hold of that feeling and try and control it. if you can't it would be troublesome." He said seriously, to which Sora nodded in understanding,

'That goblin was at level 1 copper rank, but it dropped to the strength it would have before cultivation. his physical body grew weak. was it because he used his fat to heal it or something else? depending on what would depend on how he would fight in the future. if he is physically too weak to do much, then he would need a bunch of undead. can his ability allow him to store the undead, or does he need another ability to do that?' Levi's mind raced with all kinds of thoughts while looking at Sora, but shaking his head he watched as Sora sent the goblin he turned into an undead forward to attack the other undead

although the undead was in a weakened state, it no longer had fear of death, so when attacks hit it, it ignored them and simply attacked the weaker goblins, killing them. seemly out of range, they were not bought back to life, meanwhile, the first undead was filled with injuries, but they disappeared as Sora got skinner and skinner, seeing this Hana got worried as she feared Sora might just drop dead,

Levi seeing frowned as well, and with a step, he took out all of the goblins, before looking at Sora he had his eyes closed from start to finish, he didn't want to see the goblin die, as he didn't want to get distracted with their deaths,

"... I can feel it, I seem to be losing something. I managed to take hold of it and stop it from leaving." Sora said softly as he opened his eyes to look at Levi. Levi nodded slightly while looking at the undead whose injuries were no longer healing.

'he is not tired, so it was his fat being transformed... he would have to eat a lot once we return. she will kill me if she seeks him like this.' Levi thought fearful of his wife, but with a shake of his head he threw a goblin that was not that injured toward Sora, in the end, they needed to find out more about Sora's ability.

when the dead body of the goblin got within 6 feet of Sora, it came to life and began moving, but this time its injuries were not healed. Levi nodded while looking at this, he also noticed that Sora was not as tired as before, although slightly tired he seem to be able to bring back another undead.

'Does he get stronger the more undead? if that is the case then he would be able to have an endless amount of undead. his mind is what is used to bring the undead back, it would be twice as effective once he gains energy. but is there a limit to how powerful his mind could be? well, let's see how powerful he could become.' Levi thought calmly,

"I can feel it, I think I can stop them from becoming undead now," Sora said softly as he stepped forward towards the other undead, it was slightly hard, but the other dead goblin didn't come back to life. but this was a bit stressful for him, he was not used to this and needed time to get used to this,

So, he stepped away from the dead bodies and forced on trying to use the ability [The Adaptor] from the goblin,

[The Adaptor (E rank)]- this ability allows one to adapt to things 5 times faster than others, be it the dark, no locations, and so on. this ability doesn't give you new abilities or something of the kind, it only increases the speed of getting used to something new or adjusting to something new. you might not learn to breathe underwater, but you would be able to quickly get used to being underwater, or even moving in water, fighting in water, and so on.

Sora felt himself gaining this new ability, but it was far weaker than when the goblin had it, as it was at F rank for him. meaning, he could adapt to things twice as fast, sadly he couldn't stack skills, or else that would have been truly overpowered.

So, with him getting used to the feeling of holding back his ability from healing others or even bringing others back to life, it got easier for him, and after a few minutes, he no longer needed his full attention on this matter, which was far better than when he was getting overwhelmed the first time he was doing this.

'fast...' Levi thought while looking at this, it took Hana a few hours to learn to control her powers, and a few years to master them to their current level, Sora, on the other hand, needed a few minutes to control his ability, although not perfect, it was faster than Hana,

'It seems like the ability stays unless I don't want it anymore, and even then I can just take it back when I want... I don't like being so skinny, I should save up to boy those abilities which store fat or something. maybe I should try and strengthen my ability, allowing my fat to be more than enough to heal the undead many times over.' Sora thought to himself before he looked deeper into the dungeon, there were stronger goblins within, and many might have unique and better abilities.
